please help!!!

the other day i started my ds to take it out for a ride. while it was idleing with the choke ON it was fine nice steady idle. but when u turned the choke off it would idle for 5 seconds or soo then make a wierd tick noise n the carburator would shake. now wen i tryed to start it again yesterday it wont start and it backfires. but wen it backfires it dont only do it from the exhaust pipe it does it from the intake box to. it makes a wierd pop from the intake box n the whole cover wants to lift off. please help me get this thing running!

 

You dont happen to be running an after market CDI box.If you are put the stock one back in and see if it corrects the problem. Be very careful. Everytime your bike backfires like you are talking about it is forcing your sparg clutch to go in the wrong direction. This will wipe it out after a couple of times. Costing $500.00+ in parts. Have you checked you valve setting?

 

Sounds like the valves need to be adjusted.

 

I was having an identical problem, everyone said check valves, did that, check air leaks, did that, fuel clogs, did that, pinched overflow hose, did that. Notta.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]
Regulator/rectifier for $15 off of eBay---fixed it. Not a problem since. Well, clutch slippage, but that's not related...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

My DS650 Does That every so often, I just replace the plugs, then its all better.

 

i found a high performance regulator
will it work the same?

 

FIXED IT
i had too much oil in it n it foul out my plugs so it wouldnt get good spark
only ended up costin $6.32 to fix
