Outlander 800 vs Kawasaki Brute Force 750
#1
I bought an 04 Outlander 400 and loved it. However, power was lacking for the type of riding I do. I traded it in for an 05 Brute Force and I like it also, but the ride and handling of the Outlander stuck with me. I am now working on selling my 750 and buying an 06 Outlander 800.
Anyone got any comments to help me with my decision. Would really like to hear from current 800 owners on pro's and con's.
Thanks!

I was riding a BF750 on snow packed trails when we met a guy riding a Max 800. He and I switched rides, and within 15 minutes I decided to get one. Power, handling, stability, comfort, all better on the outy. The other guy's assessment of the BF was that it felt 'boxy'.
The BF750 was a loaner, my 2 prairies were in the shop getting knuckle joint recall kits. Wish I could have kept my P700, but had to sell both of them to get one Outy, money well spent.

As some of you might remember the fate our BF750 suffered, in short it tipped over and went down the side of a very big mountain, may she RIP. Stability, stability, stability is very important in our book. The Bomb has it the BF does not. The Bomb has the BF beat on power, comfort, and has EFI. There realy is no comparison in the quads the Bomb has it beat in every way I can think of. except maybe that nifty little pocket to keep water bottles in on the BF's front fender.

I'm not entirely sold on the Bomb front diff. I would like to have the BF's front diff lever as a back-up to the Bomber's automatic system. I'm sure (well not entirely) that it works as advertised 95% of the time but having the ability to mechanically lock the front diff up would be nice for the other 5% of the time.

Thanks for the input everyone. I brought home my red 06 800 Outlander Max yesterday and I'm a lovin it! It's sweet not having to use a choke, starts right up and drives like a dream. I put on a new set of Maxxis Bighorn Radials and they really make a difference with ride and handling.
I think this a good topic so it should stay open for all the other crossover thinkers.
Thanks!

Last night my two buddies who are diehard Honda and Polaris quad owners were simply awe struck by my new Outty Red 800 Max. They way she sounded and body parts easy to get off, the ride..
We installed grip heaters on the Outty and they basically slobbered over her the whole time. Of course they will still stick by their machines, but it was so obvious that they appreciated a thourobred when they saw one. It was nice knowing I made a good choice and the "other boys" knew it too, even though they may never want to admit it!
