Default Anybody ever hit a deer?

A few years ago now, my freind and I were out on some tracks on our new banshees, he was about 30metres in front in about 4th gear when an emu run out of the bush straight into the side of him, and his new bike, and to top things off it emptied its bowels all down the side of him and his bike. If you dont know an emu is about 6' tall bird that cant fly and they run quite fast. This bird just tumbled, got up and run off. We still laugh about that incident now.

I hit one about 3 weeks ago. It came right out infront of me and i clipped his hind leg. I tried to turn to miss him but ended up in the soft stuff on the shoulder of a graded dirt road and went superman off the right side of the bike. When i got up off the ground and got the DS back on all 4s theyre wasnt a trace of him except the clean spot on the nose plastic where i hit him. Scared the hell outta me. Come to find out it was the opening day for the bow hunters, guess they were just spooked and runnin all over the place. Bent my lower left a arm in the process so if youve got one in your garage you wanna get rid of PM me. I wont be riding on opening day any more, archery or rifle!!!

A couple of years ago I almost went over the handlebars because I locked the front brakes on so hard trying to avoid a cow on a late nite ride. Think I had to clean out my shorts after that one, to say the least I slowed down after that.

I hit one a year or so ago on the DS. I was just cruising home from a friends house late one night, probably 30 mph or so, through me over the bars and on the pavement. I had road rash like a ****. Glad I had my helmut on. Prior to hitting the deer I had been riding wide open on my way home but had slowed down about a mile from home to keep the noise down. Glad I didn't hit the deer wide open

About 12 years ago I bought a 89 Zuki Quad Racer 250 from a guy that a hit a deer with it. He said he was tapped out in 5th gear when a white tail jumped out in front of him. Cleaned the left side a-arms right off and bent the frame up by the a-arms about 4 inches over to one side.... I was amazed he did not get killed....
