The 4th is jam packed at that park, but were going anyway. The kids and wife are going to spend the day on the beach. They let you stay in the park after sunset to watch the fireworks from the top of the last dune. Great view!!
now onto the DS days!!. You guys set the date, and Ill be there. (just dont make it in April, to friggen cold). I am however, going to Silver Lake the weekend of May 13th and 14th. Im going to the WMSD to do some test and tune on Saturday for 3 hours, then hit the park for the rest of the day. Sunday, Im entering the Mt. Baldy hill climb competition.
Its all up to you,
Gary

Family, friends and I are looking at an August 23, 24, 25 & 26 trip. Prior to that, we have trail system rides planned for Atlanta, Baldwin and Mio systems. When August is closer, I'll check to see if others are going to be at Silver Lake for that weekend.

I have a huge Utah trip in May, so I wanna hit Silver Lake Micigan sometime in April to make sure I have no bugs to iron out prior to that long drive in may. I am not certain on a date yet, it'll probably be the 3rd or 4th week of April, in the middle of the week. I will post as soon as I know, it just depends on my work schedule, and also when Wayne has his new bike ready!
But as for this eastern DS days, count me in. I'm up for any month from June on, but sometime later in the summer would be best, a date that we would be most likely to get good powder. August or September will always have the best sand conidtions - it would suck for some of the guys with really long drives to show up and have damp bumpy trenched up rutty sand like it always is on the weekends early in the year from all the trucks. And it should NOT be a holiday weekend, or the weekend immediately following a holiday, cause besides the crowds the sand conditions would be crap.
just my two pennies, I am only 5-1/2 hours away so i will make it regardless of rain or shine, wet or dry, cold or hot. any sand is better than no sand, no matter what!

Hightower, we're planning a trip either late April or early May..but it will be a long weekend type trip. If I remember correctly, I think you usually can only make it during the week. There should be 4-5 of us coming...depending on when my father-in-law is going, we'll just stay at their cabin thats about 2 minutes from the dune entrance...Let me know when you narrow it down and I'll do the same..

What did Hightower do? Are you going to get that safety Certification?

Right now they are only doing the safety certs on Saturdays, and Saturdays are my scheduled days to work, so I will have to figure out how I am going to do this.

right now I am looking at going up on wednesday april 26th, if this day also works out for my ride buddies I work with.
probably spend the night ride half the next day too.
don't know if that might work for you or not Dingo, but if so let me know. I can't burn anyore vacation time on riding or I'd take some time off to meet you up there on a weekend. need the vac time for the big Utah trip in May.
