Silver lake Trip
#41
Hey guys-
I'm an ex-DS owner, but I would enjoy meeting at Silver Lake sometime. I think it would be about an 8 hour trip for me and my summer is pretty much open anytime. My Scrammy is making close to 60 HP and lightened, so I may be able to hang with some of the "stock" DS650's.

late july would be great....... i got plans for a trip in mid-late august out west( no quad just some good old sightseeing with friends) so i cant really do it in august but the going consensus seems to point to late july. this is a good starting point. now we should maybe narrow down the weekend.

Okay I'll throw out a suggestion of July 29-30, just a suggestion, who would be up for a "DS Days" on that weekend?
School aint in yet, but still late enough in summer for good chance of dry powder, and also swimming in Lake Michigan.
here is a link for any and all information, rules, etc.,, be sure to read it all and show up preapired if you have a long drive!
Silver Lake and Michigan DNR info and rules
if we get a date set up thru this post, we can start a new thread for "Eastern DS Days" and I will be happy to host a webpage specifically for it, and also open up a new Gallery linked from the webpage that I can set up for anybody and everybody to load up pics to, just to get the cravings going!

I'm DOWN. I think I am just going to have my son take the ATV Saftey course. I want him to ride. I think if I can swing and bring my mom down. Now to see if I get my DS buddy to tag along and my Raptor bud as well.
I will prob be there for 5 days. It's a 14hr haul for me so 3 days is kind of rough. If none of my friends go I am going on my own. I'm going to see if Dabomb joins us and maybe catch Bombsaint on the way over.
Who's up for Drag racing?

crazyds, you may want to see how much it is to take the ferry across the lake to ludington, If Dstroyer comes maybe he can hook you up with a ride.
Dave I called about the safety tests and got a machine, I hope they return my call.
They could make a mint if they set up a safety test place next to Silver Lake.
IF you are bringing kids, I copy and pased this from the DNR page.

Adults with an ORV safety certificate issued under authority of another state or a province of Canada.
(b) A parent or legal guardian of a child 12 years of age to less than 16 years of age shall permit the child to operate an ORV unless the child is under direct visual supervision, from a distance of not more than 50 feet, of an adult and the child has in his or her immediate possession an ORV safety certificate issued by this state or a comparable ORV safety certificate issued under the authority of another state or a province of Canada.
(11) Operate any type of vehicle and fail to present an operator's or chauffeur's license or ORV Safety Training Certificate upon the demand of any law enforcement officer or State Park personnel.
