Default Back from the River

Me a buddy went to the river today to test and had a great time. Smoked a few YFZs, a Predator and a bunch of Banshees, 400s and Raptors. Its was fun especially when the Predator called me out. I think I put about 6 lengths on him in a hurry. I was testing carbs for the Clash. Dual FCRs vs TM45 was interesting. The duals rev for days and pull and pull. I think the jetting is still a little off. The 45 ran good but just didnt seem to rev as fast. The TM seemed better off the line but the duals would take off when I hit 2nd. I could lauch in 2nd with the 45 but not the duals. I think thats a jetting thing. One of my 650s has a Boondockers kit and if you havent tried that its a rush. Cant wait for the Clash next weekend. Ill see you guys there. Anyone else do any testing this weekend

Default Back from the River

My testing was limited to running my stock pipe (slightly modified)on my 03 Baja with a Lectron 46HV and my ported intake.I am sure that most will think that the stock pipe could not be much of a performer but i was very surprised at just how good it did especially on the top end.I was running my Baja against my 2001 690 Raptor(with my wife aboard) which flat hauls and on the sand flats starting with 2nd gear rolling starts the Baja held its own up until fifth gear.I am having to try and come up with a way to get at least close to the 93 DB sound rules we have on the dunes here in Oregon and it is taking a lot of work to get there with performance.I will soon be purchasing a HPR high compression piston and a set of HR2 cams to go with the Lectron and intake .The Lectron carb makes my normally sluggish Baja rev much like a two stroke and the addition of a piston and cams should really wake my Baja up.I do have a Big Gun cdi and K&N air filter and i am going to switch to the (no-toil) filter when i get my high compression piston and cams installed.Any opinions on the no-toil VS the K&N in terms of performance ?

AZ,

Glad to hear you are making progress with that machine. Are you headed out to Glamis any time in the next couple of months? I'd like to see it run after you've had enough time with it to put it into shape.
