Right on, let's get some confirmation backup on this. Trusting because he said, she said, talking heads on web don't indicate anything. Only one or a few posters account for most posts anyway under multi id's. Suckering a dyno can't be that difficult, and a sample of one is not even a statistical sample (3 minimum). Of course its a drag race cam versus a standard performance cam on a flow-groomed bike using alkyhol, so its feasible but not prooven yet.
It will never be confirmed or proven to some and that doesn't really bother me.

Yjacket as long as there is someone out there to question the results I know you will jump on that bandwagon and question them to.

Gary, I will run your offer by the owner of the bike. That will be up to him.

Mario, I already told you that if you didn't buy into what we found that my feelings would not be hurt. The gains were impressive enough to be suspect so I understand your position.

Again if I was trying to pull a fast one, I would have settled on a 5 hp gain that would have been tough to argue but enough to get people thinking about which cams to buy.

Take the info or leave it. In all reality if you ignore what we did and call it "BS", you won't have a chance at capitolizing on this. If you ask questions and figure out why it happened, you will know more and rely less.

Ron

NUT, never end a sentence with a preposition. :-o

Seriously, my statistical background wants valid evidence. I'm sorry and thought you would understand this scientific approach.

Phil,

Thanks for the grammar check.

I understand what you are saying but the word "valid" is relative to your perception of what is considered "valid". I am happy with the validity of the results and I don't think it could ever be done in a sterile enough environment for you to have all of your doubts and questions satisfied. If I tried to answer your next question, there would always be another one to follow. I have put everything I know about this situation in my posts and I have granted that NM is a different animal and that you cannot necessarily extrapelate the results to a gas bike. It is what it is and the test was not skewed. Both cams had equal conditions.

With all due respect, you figure out why it happened. You know basically what I think so go ask someone who knows more than I do. I am not going to run around recreating the conditions on other dynos just so you can finally have enough data to make the decision whether you choose to believe the results. My bike is not going to be any slower if you don't trust the results.

NUT,

I can hear what you're saying, and I feel you pain. I stated right from the start that two test with different testers/dyno/same time conditions and never changed once (, or even two different bike/configurations would even be better). But since they didn't listen to you until now and you were right, I can see where you think the world is against you. I think everyone likes you and just wants to push you so you can achieve what others may not be able to do. Just remember, think of how you 'can' do it, and not why you 'can't' do it! :-)

20HP FOR 400$ now thats a value! I'd love to try a set in my 14-1 stockbore with a single tm45 and race head on alky, no NM, to see if I could duplicate those reults. With that set up I just described I'm at 61.4 hp now . For my stockbore to see 80hp or my big bore to see 90hp from just a cam change would be absolutely awesome

if you right click on the picture you can save a copy of it, then you can open them both side by side to compare. one thing you'll notice is that the hpr4 cams have a few ft-lbs and a few hp less than the 109's at low RPM (4200RPM), so it looks like the hpr4 cams tradeoff a little lowend torque for more topend torque.

hpr really needs to provide some basic tech specs on their cams so people can more easily choose.

I may have to talk to HPR about some 720cc turbo cams.

what was used to determine the % nitro?

is it possible that on the day that the web109 ran, the nitro was not present or at a far lower % than the day the hpr4's ran? like crazy said, he's at 61hp w/o nitro with a similar web109 setup.

i could see a few ft-lbs difference, but nearly 10 ft-lbs seems excessive to me.

what were those graphs generated from, they do not look like standard chart to me, more like an excel spreadsheet.

42 ft-lbs with a 14:1, race head, and 20% nitro doesn't make any sense at all. this combo should have added a lot more torque over stock.
