Scooby,

Don't the turbo's need the mid range more than top end? Turbo's should have all the top end you need.

Thanks

Way to go NUT. Just so long as this is not like the carb test, where the TM-45 was not set up properly and cited as 8hp less than Lectron instead of simply stating how long it takes to correctly set up each carb.

huh?

Mario will figure it out sooner or later and report his findings. Muliple resources adds validity.

I think he did.

Good job NUT! I'm impressed.

AZ,

Don't say "poopie". I will wake up screaming for the rest of my life hearing that word come out of your mouth!

My problem is we have a track record of making anywhere from 55 hp to 64 hp depending on conditions and percentage of NM. We have reproduced those same results multiple times with multiple tanks of fuel. The bike always ran consistently. They did several runs after the cam change with a low of just over 77 hp and a high of 79+. They drained the fuel and are running multiple times tonight. The first is on straight alcohol. The next is 10% NM, the next is 20% then 30%. The point of the exercise is to see how the percentage of NM leverages hp with these cams. This will tell us more about what happened not to mention we will be reproducing results or not reproducing them and finding out if it was a fluke or not.

I think the grind on the 109's is just totally inappropriate for a NM/Alky motor. I think they might be part of the culprit why we were only seeing around 60 hp. Also, NM does not add as much hp as one would think until you are really dialed. It is risky for the returns. At 20% we might see an average of 10 hp increase over straight alky...........on the 109's. After tonight I will know how much the NM is improving power on the HP4's.

If we max out our modified carb, it might be on to Hilborn, lol.

NUT,

I can hear what you're saying, and I feel you pain. I stated right from the start that two test with different testers/dyno/same time conditions and never changed once (, or even two different bike/configurations would even be better). But since they didn't listen to you until now and you were right, I can see where you think the world is against you. I think everyone likes you and just wants to push you so you can achieve what others may not be able to do. Just remember, think of how you 'can' do it, and not why you 'can't' do it! :-)
Phil,

You crack me up. That sounds just like something I would come up with. You are all right. I have been under tremendous pressure these last couple of days (10's of thousands hanging in the balance) so throw most of what I say away. If you have questions about this feel free to ask. I will do my best to find answers. After all, I want more answers to. <------ Look, another preposition!

I think the hr4 cams like power adders to the point........ the more the merrier. This weekend If I can get a whole day of dyno time, I will do a stock axle to drag axle dyno curve and HP comparison. I will also be testing the a-1 a2 cams on alky and nitro. I will also give a full report and try to post the stage 2 #s. I have the alky needle from HPR that Im excited to get dialed in. Just got another drag axle from ondunes/bomber that is just KILLER!!!!!!!!! I almost like pulling more hp and testing these motors as much as I like to drag race...

Hey DSNUT, I got some nitro in the garage thats been sitting for a few years in a steel can.. Ya think I should be ok running it. I dont know much about the shelf life.. Thanks

I don't know about the shelf life either. If someone doesn't already get you an answer I should have one tomorrow. How would you test that stuff? You damnear can't ignite the stuff but when it blows it blows with attitude.

If sealed properly, Ive heard that nitro can last a few years if not exposed to direct sunlight. I was just wondering cause I have 5 gallons of it And I need to burn it up.lol Its been sitting through some 100 degree temps. Maybe I will get some fresh stuff anyways.

If anyone knows and have stored this stuff I just want to know if it will hurt anything if I tried it. IF its expired? its $125 for 5 gallons

That is cheap. We are paying $200 for 5 gal.

Mario, look at the dyno runs we did tonight.

Mario check the nitro with a hydrometer at 100% be shure and use the temperature tables. Metal cans are the only way to store Nitro so you should be fine.
