Default powder coating the frame

I just got one of my Banshee frames back today from the powdercoater and it cost me $250 that included 2 coats of paint (Evergreen) and 1 coat of clear. Before I sent the frame I had it sandblasted and I hooked up with MOCAP that supplied me with samples of Ultra High Temp thread plugs for the welded nuts. On the Banshee frame there are alot of welded nuts... M6 and M8's. The plugs came right out after powdercoat and can be used again. MOCAP's web site is mocap.com and their number is 314.543.4000. I know using these plugs saved me hours of thread cleaning. I will be buying more plugs for future projects.

Blast will cost 50 to 70 extra from another location in most cases. I have a metric bolt kit for filling all the holes and special tape for brake pegs

If you powder other parts be sure to cover the steering stem past the threads, and if your doing the brake pedal try to have them cover the inner area where the pedal slides into the frame. Otherwise the o-rings won't seat correctly. Ask them to make sure the blow out all the blast media in the corners as if they powdercoat it without removing any specks of grit the powdercoating won't adhere well.

Great thread. And great tips from all. I'm ripping it apart this weekend and then delivering next week. Bomber has got me jazzed. Oh' and wait till you see what Glen has come up with now. I got chills when he told me about it. Not sure that he wants everyone knowing what's up his sleeve, but wait and see. Should be SICK.... If you ever seen his Shee with the airplane theme, you know what he's capable of.

It will be SICK!!!!
