Yjacket you are officially a disruptor of my thread! I welcome well thought out dissention that concerns the informational differences at hand. Your personal attacks (autistic? lmao) are tedius and better suited for the "Outside" thread or kept to yourself.

Ok so I measured the stock wall thickness. .320. Not very thick, but just for kicks I measured some other motors I have torn apart as well. One 600 artic cat, one 800skidoo, and one 670 skidoo. All have o-ring head gaskets, and all have wall thickness of .430 or larger up to .460. The o-ring takes .140 of thickness itself. Now what is the 730 thickness and bore diameter?

ERBE,

Thanks for the support. I, to, am working to remove the BS so we can get back to cylinder sleeves and wall thickness.

Glad to see you are on board.

There is no reason why the HPR 730 jug couldn't not be re-bored and then recoated. I believe what Eric was replying to yjacket was that you would not want to put a sleeve in a HPR jug.

While I am all for finding new products and improving upon old ones, yjacket... you amaze me. You went from knowing nothing about the rotax to becoming an expert in just 5 months and 450+ post. While you may have a lot of great info to bring to the forum, I feel you go about it all wrong. In my opinion you personally have filled this forum with more worthless post and make this great forum closer and closer to the Yamaha forum

Jed,

I know the bore on the 730 but I am waiting anxiously to hear the wall thickness as well so I can compare it to OEM and better understand the head gasket issues.....

Viper,

I am just going by what Mr HP told me on Ebay 720 thread. I asked him 3 times to understand. I don't know the specifics, but he did reply twice in ALL CAPS, so I assume that is the message, as he didn't reply once I figured out his message and verbalized it back to him. I would like to see autocad light drawings of all 3 instead of verbal descriptions, but fat chance. See I found out something none of you knew, with the assistance of Mr HP :-)

While I do not know the wall thickness of the HPR jug, maybe a comparison picture can help?

Stock jug on left, HPR on the right
Just a heads up, the picture was not taken dead on center. In fact from the picture the stock jug looks like it has a larger bore then the HPR when it fact its 5.5mm larger.
