I don't think you'd have screwed anything up at this point. I hydra-locked a CAT 3208 with coolant, the head gasket blew, and ended up "hop-starting" the truck. Since the cylinder was completely full of coolant, and it was a diesel (really high compression), when I forced it to start it bent a connecting rod.

The oil rings won't hold the gas in the cylinder. It will go right past them and dilute your oil. You need to either change it a couple times or do an unbelievable job of purging your motor of the contaminated oil or you could have premature engine/tranny failure.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on screwups. Education costs money no matter where you get it, just make sure you get something for your investment.....

Yeah, what he said. You don't have to do that every time. Just now, as a remedy for your error.

Since you are purging your oil system of gasoline, why not use a cheaper oil during the purging process? You wont be running the engine much on each change of oil. Either way, even if you spent $90 on oil changes - it is still a hell of a lot cheaper than a rebuild any day of the week, right?

What kinda oil are you using that costs you $45 per change? I use some semi-synthetic from Bel Rey & I think ti was $45 or so shipped to my door for a case of it.

while your at it, get a stainless steel oil filter.

About $80 but you'll never have to buy another one.

There are alot of good oils out there that don't cost that much either.

do a search and you will find out what most everyone is running.

I was using Amsoil 0-40 at about $5.50/ qt.
