Default Easter Weekend in Oregon

Im not going to run it until its right. It will be shipped back to them this week. Ron said he would take it up to JJ&A and get it figured out. Ive already figured out why it wont work right. The sprocket hub is around a 1/2' to far to the right for proper alignment. The hub needs to be redesigned with enough offset to bring it into alignment. I had a fabricator buddy of mine look at it and came up with the same thing as I did. I have no doubt that ODP will make it right. When I explained it to Jeff at JJ&A he also told me not to run it either.

Where did you get the shock recharged?

Ahhhh........I see. I thought it was exactly like Mario's. Obviously you have a different problem than Mario. I didn't understand that. Thanks for the clarification.

I think DTR did it. Anybody that has high pressure nitrogen can take care of it. They will want to spray all your fittings with something and recharge and watch for leaks. When none, recharge to spec. Any race shop or cycle shop should have it.

I found a guy that recharges shocks here in town. ( Thanks Donal) It really didnt leak all that much. I have to give some props to Donal. He let me try to install the axle on his turbo bike just to see if maybe there was a problem with my swingarm. The result was the same, no go. We tried just about every scenerio. I have to rethink my plan to put on a smoke show for my neighbors with the turbo bike seeing how he's been so nice to me (smiley's not working again)

Kieth, I was just going to pM you about your axle issues. Until I read this thread, I didnt know what was up in the final diagnostic. I dont see how we didnt catch this problem with our measurements.

I thought we looked at that distance from the carrier. I know they will make it right for you. They ran this set up at planet sand and had no probs with the alum axles from what I understand. Hang in there buddy, If things are going TOO smooth then you would have to worry. Looks like your ready for some good luck.

I should be due for some luck soon Mario. Im wondering if they sent the right axle hub with it? Could just be a mistake on that. I also had three yamaha tech thats have the shop next door to mine look at it, They all said the same thing. Due to the placement of the front sprocket the rear has to be in the same position on axle as the stocker of course splitting the difference on the width of the 520. So I did a little Ninja engineering and shimmed out the sprocket via washers to see exactly (well sort of) how far to the left it needed to go to line up. It was nearly a 1/2' to get the chain in the center of the sprocket. It seems to me that the spacers should be built into the hub not seperate. And there should be an inset in the hub to make it come over far enough to the left to line up correctly. IF installed as directed the chain will catch on the right hand side of the chain. Im not a fabricator or a machinist but it seem obvious to me what the problem is. Maybe Im missing something but you and I went through the whole thing and measured it up. I have a Ron woods front sprocket on it and it is a little bit different than the stocker as far as how far it sits out off the motor. I even shimmed that out with washers to see if maybe that was it but even with that no dice. By the way thanks for trying to help me out with this Mario.

I can get the Aluminum one from RW but I would rather have a steel one that will last more than a few rides. It could be awhile before we figure the other stuff out and I dont want to waste money on a couple of sprockets in the mean time.
