What, Crash and I are not good enough for you without both of them there.... j/k DSNut said he was going to come out, and we are having a sprocket shipped to the Hotel in North Bend for Scatter so I am sure he will be there or get his butt kicked.. Anyone, who wants to come on out. It is a Big Red Ford truck, with flames on the side. 3 Black bikes, and should be 2 red ones also....could be scary, 5 DS to rule the sand

Scatter & Nut....If you BOTH will be there this Sunday, I might have to come down and watch you guys duke it out. Who knows Scatter might be so fasttttt, that Nut's bike might need a 110lb monkey to pilot it....lol. Seriously I will come down if both bikes will be there. Winchester on Sunday...? I can feel solar rays already, I'll just bring shorts and a t-shirt, that way it will be sure to not rain.

OK, I'll give DSNUT (Ron) a call, and make sure he is coming, his carrier bearing went south, the last time we went riding, but should have it back together today. If NUT comes, he will probably be with me, I'll be driving a red dodge with weekend warrior. Nut's been telling me about this guy (scatter) in K. Falls (my old home town) that is building a bike very similar to his, should be for some good times. I'm one of those yammy guys..... can't drag the DS's out of a whole when I get stuck.

Ok, Brenton you are a good man! I already trust you implicitly. I am not convinced I can pull the hill with Keith yet. More than anything right now, I want Keith to have an incredible weekend of riding and successes. He is due some good stuff taking place. That being said, I will not let up on the hill but I am here to say that I sincerely hope he can come back on the forum knowing he has built a winner................even if that means I don't get to win.
We will have some good weather on Sunday and it should be a blast!

Well, just rolled in from a great day of riding at Winchester Bay. I met with Scatterbrain, DragonDJ11, Crash20 and YFZfryguy.
Scatterbrain, it was excellent to meet you. Dragon and crash, always a pleasure. YFZfryguy,........well I see him on the dunes all the time. He is becoming like a brother.
The race hill (superman) at Winchester is about as steep a race hill as you will find. DS's usually don't do real well on this hill because additional weight is such a handicap. Florence and Coosbay comp hills are much better for us heavy rides!
Here is how it went from my perspective; I will rely upon the other gentlemen to correct me if I am mistaken. Scatterbrain took the KOTH on the final pass by about 1 1/2 lengths. His motor is running well. I was running over rich on the first two passes because of a problem I had a couple weeks ago. We fixed it and i hadn't changed my jetting. On all motor, Scatter would pull me by a 1/4 length. At his suggestion i leaned my metering rod and cut my powerjet back a little. I picked up about 3 lengths thanks to him. He turned his NOS on and we went back to the hill. I would jump out about 2-3 lengths off the line. Scatterbrain was hitting the button right after he shifted into 3rd with a very rich running 20 shot (not 20 hp by any means) but it was not quite enough to catch me by the top. He switched over to his 520 chain conversion and leaned his NOS system a bit. I went to lean my powerjet a little more and the fixed jet housing spun in the epoxy. When I did that the little fitting that the powerjet fuel hose fits on broke off. Not happy! We bandaided it and closed off the fixed powerjet and opened the adjustable powerjet up more and i went out and tested. It worked temporarily and seemed about the same as before. I was possibly still a little rich up top. We went back to the hill. Scatterbrain was hitting the NOS button again right after he went into third and this time with a full 20 shot was even or pulling me by a 1/2 length at the top of the hill. It was very close though. We went for 1 more pass and he went for broke. He hit the button right off the bottom. I still jumped out about 1 length (no, I wasen't leaving early) but it wasen't enough, he was able to pass me on the hill and we ended the day with him a little over a length ahead of me.
I was happy for him to take the air trophy home for this weekend. I had a great time with all of you. I look forward to next month!
