i had a friend ride along next to me going uphill on pavemant on his honda v45 magna, he said i was running between 85-90mph in 5th gear at 8500 rpm, that was 15/40 gearing and 21-12-9 mud sharks on the ds. the ds was a scootin.

 

with gps on my bike, stock tires and sprockets but with big gun cdi, 82 mph,cdi will give you about 3 mph if you can get your bike to pull the extra 1000rpms on 5th gear.

 

the ds650 can do like 120 with the right gearing, but people can gear it down and make it do 65 soo fast, Ds650's are awesome, if you gear down a ds650 it will easily smoke a stock yfz450 to 60-65 mph

 

FRM WHAT IVE READ THE DS650 HAS SOME NICE TOP END SPEEDS.I TOOK MY DS650 LAST NIGHT TO THE DYNO I FINALLY FOUND A MECHANIC CLOSE BY THAT HAS ONE. IM NOT FAMILIAR ON WHAT A STOCK DS650 NUMBERS LOOK LIKE BUT MY BIKE DID 31.5HORESPOWER AND 51.2 TORQUE,HAD ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE READING DUE TO THE NEW MUDLITE 22 TIRES THAT I PUT. THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS A GOOD READING DUE TO THE TIRE SIZE AND IT SLIPPING ON THE DYNO. HE SAID THESE BIKES ARE NOT REALLY MEANT FOR TOP SPEED OR HP BUT FOR A WHOLE LOT OF TORQUE. I'M GONNA GO BACK NEXT WEEK WITH STREET TIRES HE SAID IT WILL DO ALOT BETTER. HE ALSO TOLD ME ITS NOT REALLY ABOUT HP ITS ABOUT MAINTAINING TORQUE THROUGHOUT YOUR GEARS AND HAVING GOOD SUSPENSION. IF ANYBODY HAS THE STOCK SPEC'S THAT WILL HELP TO SEE WHERE IM AT SO FAR. ARE THESE DYNO NUMBERS GOOD?

 

OH AND MY TOP SPEED IS 76.5 ON A GPS PRETTY GOOD, IT AINT NO "74.5 IN 300FT" lOl THATS SWEET, BUT IM HAPPY(FOR NOW).

 

There it is, the ever popular "for now" Look out, this thing can eat up dollars like you would not believe.......

Curious what a Speed / Radar gun runs ?
Just think it would be cool to have one out at the desert and clock some folks and have them come back around and you can tell them Ya you beat that guy but your only doing 45 mph with that blaster wide open !.
Or how about Man that Sand Rail passed you doin 110 mph !

Think they are under say 150 bucks ?
