OUTLANDER 800
#11
I will contact my dealer and get them to research it.
They are a small store and probably have not sold many!
The draining of the battery explains why everytime I use my winch the electrical system on my outty sounds like it is overloading itself and the check engine light goes on and the bike say's "limp home" mode.
I have not bought any luggage racks or storage bins (any suggestions????), so I would like to make a set of jumper cables and bungy them somewhere on the bike like under the seat.
I wonder what guage I would need and what alligator clips??? I would need for the ends.
I also wonder if you drain the battery that bad, even if you manage to jump the bike, will the battery have enough voltage to run the EFI system????

Goto a Yamaha Dealer and order there jumper cables for there snomobiles, the cable are nice and compact. They use it to fire up a 4 cyl, 4 stroke 150hp EFI in sub zero temps, so i'm sure it can handle the Bomb 800

Rather than a conventional set of jumper cables, get a quick disconnect and hard wire to the battery. Locate the quick disconnect in some convenient location (i.e., near the tail light or Speedo housing). If you need a jump, plug in and hook to the good battery.

Speedo problem can be fixed by removing speed sensor and wiping clean. It is magnatized and will pick up metal shavings.I would also reccommend cleaning the drain plug also.

truckguy what your talkin about on ur winch is a recall take it to your dealer and at the winch module theres a part that consists of just wires that hooks to a ground and i think puts more fuses in the line to fix that problem

Follow the wire from the speedo? Wich wire? Can't even see the back of the speedo without taking the beast apart. Wich one is the MPH sensor and the RPM sensor and the heat sensor and the 4x4 sensor, get the picture? I am sure it is easy for those in the know. Thanks.

Hello. You have to get to know your machine a little better. All those plastic parts just snap together.I asked the mechanic about the speedo problem and he said to remove the r/side covers and behind that there is another panel or shield to remove. he said to to remove the sensor from the case and to wipe it clean of shavings, or if you have have bad sensor to replace it. Do you have warranty? should be three yrs on the warranty. You might also do what i'm going to do and that is to order a repair manual from the dealer. good luck
