You're right , I am also going to order a manual. I have the warrenty but the dealer said if it ain't broke when he sees it he can't fix it. My speedo problem is not constant and needle works fine in the RPM mode and the digital speedo is OK. Needle as speedo is the problem. I know that the more you know the machine the easier it is to get things fixed and to always make it back to the trailer. It would be nice to have a repair tips thread on the 800.

The small alternators don't put out enough amps out to do the job when you are winching. You will drain the battery and overtax the alternator which in turn will fry the circuit board if you use the winch for an extended period of time.

Right, i think the winches are a little to much for the electrical system, i think installing a relay might help with the current flow.
