Default setting the record straight

Well guys just got done unloading the bikes and i thought i would set the record straight about my pismo crash.today the misses and i met up with tbone and his wife and we went out to the drags where i had my accident. upon further review i would like to tell you all when i stated i veared to the right about 15 yards or so i was dead wrong. from what we saw today i was more like 50 yards off to the right. now i feel like a bigger idiot vearing off that bad. everything ran good today on my bike everything seems to be in order. to add insult to my injuries. the tough guy i think i am i fixed the bike up and thought i was ready to get out there and ride. when i got to pismo i went to put my helmet on and guess what else got broke in my crash. yep the whole inside of my helmet fell out upon further review of that the stupid thing was bent way out of shape. now for the truth i was so scared today at the drags that i really could not get into it.i was acting like a little b!tch afraid i might wreck again. i made a couple passes and turned the pig over to tbone and he wooped some a$$ on it today, i cant even tell you guys what a 150 lb lighter rider can make that thing do. anyway ted put on a clinic and the ds reigned supreme once again . nothing better than the look on those punks face after they got blowed out of the water by my pig. so there it is now we know the truth. now i even know. hey ted i hope i didn't rune your guys day out there acting like a sissy. the misses said to tell you guys she had a great time. the shoulder is not ready for riding so i guess im back on the side lin es for a few more weeks.

Hey, if you weren't in shape physically and mentally there is nothing sissy about that, easier to crash again if you are already jacked up.

My buddies and I have an agreement, if one of us doesn't feel comfortable with a particular trail/hill etc. then we don't go up or down it. My one friend has crashed three quads which were not his own and he's usually the one who's like "oh, this is an easy one......" yeah, well now he has his own quad to crash if he wants to get wreckless, problem is I'm the one who gets the nasty messages from his wife.

thanks man i was feeling bad yesterday because i could not get comfortable in the saddal, rite now im at about 50 50. my shoulder was killing me but my mind was killing me just as bad. you know when your trying to be so cautous and careful it usualy ends up getting you hurt, every little hill up or down i would start that second guessing myself about if i can do it or whatever. it was nice to be back out there but i guess its the thought if i do take another spill i wont be able to move my right shoulder or arm to help protect myself if i needed to. its funny becouse i went from not having a care in the world to now second and third guessing myself and ability. i ended up riding my stock x and letting my wife and ted ride my 730 nitrous bike. i did make a few passes at the drags but none of them felt good.

I've only been riding for two years now, had a snowmobile for a couple of winters when I was 13-14 but aside from riding a buddies dirtbike a few times basically no experience. A few months into riding I had a pretty bad crash on my Outlander, I was only wearing a helmet and gloves at the time, scraped up my right arm from the wrist to the elbow pretty bad, purple hip, jammed shoulder.......I ordered all gear and didn't ride again until I got it all. I got a DS about 6 months after I started riding.....last winter there were a few nice days so my buddy and I went riding for a few hours, I have no clue what happened all I remember was asking my friend if the DS was upside down and his response was "MIKE, you've asked me that about 10 times the past hour, are you OK"....I flipped it over, was out for about 15 seconds and have zero memory of anything. Concussion, two broken ribs, jacked up shoulder, purple hip/thigh.........THAT scared the hell out of me. I'm not 19 anymore and still feel the effects on my hip over a year later. Call me a wuss, but I mostly stick to my utility Rincon with the DS as a secondary backup.

Sissy ...oh no far from it !!! The size of that dune you flew off of would have killed a normal man......no I would be a little gun shy myself. We had a great time and that bike kicked some a$$......looking forward to memorial day weekend your shoulder will be feeling a lot better by then!

It's been a year since I got hit by a Sandrail while riding my DS.

Definitely woke me up.

Don't know if it is me getting older or the fact that life very easily could be a lot different for me right now but, I've changed a little. . . not a lot. . . just a little. . . then again. . . could also be seeing a few friends go through divorces. . . . but, enough of the depressing stuff.

Sounds like there were a few that had a great time duning with you. . . maybe you'll do a little more duning and feel more comfortable with that. At the end of the day / trip. . . as long as you had fun with good friends it was a great trip.

I just got back from a trip and had an awesome time hanging with some friends. . . busted the chain on the rail but, had a hell of a time with the family and friends. . . the chain can be fixed.

what you said is all so true, these bikes are not just about who can beat who. its about hanging out and having a good time. i enjoyed watching everybody else ride. what was really funny was after ted would race my bike he would take it over to my wife instead of me. there were some laughs when they saw her take off on the 730 and im pulling up the rear on the stocker. we all had a great time just wished i could have stayed but i knew it was best i get home before the shoulder got any stiffer.
