Bombardier Racing Products (BRP) has announced its lineup for the 2007 season, and among the models is one that should be familiar to anyone who followed motocross-bike racing in the 1970s and 1980s.
RENEGADE 800 H.O. EFI
The new recreation-sport model, developed with feedback from GNCC champion racers Mike Penland and Scott Kilby, is designed for performance, handling and, says BRP, with the attitude of a sport quad with the go-anywhere capability of a 4x4. Among its features:
BRP made this to be the ultimate two-up luxury touring ATV. Among its features:
BRP’s rec-ute model for ’07 comes with a 500cc EFI V-twin, and has 54% more power than the Honda Rubicon 500 and a full 22% more than its closest competitor, the new-for-2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI.
Upgraded Outlander XT Added-Value Package. This accessory package is available, says BRP, at significant savings, and is covered by factory warranty. Available are:
DS 90 Now CARB “Green Label” Certified. New air injection system and catalyst in muffler ensures that the Can-Am DS 90 youth model meets California Air Resources Board and U.S. EPA emissions standards, as do all other ’07 Can-Am ATVs.

BOMBARDIER ATV BECOMES CAN-AM
In 2007 Bombardier is re-branding its ATV products to Can-Am. "We believe the Can-Am brand better represents the positioning of our products in the marketplace and provides the perfect platform to reach out to and attract powersports enthusiasts," said José Boisjoli, president and chief executive officer of BRP. The company made its debut in the ATV market in 1997. By 1999 its Traxter model was named "ATV of the Year". In 2003 BRP became the first, and only, manufacturer to offer a full line-up of ATVs designed for two riders.
In 2005 the Outlander 800 H.O. EFI was introduced and has been the company’s flagship model. Last September BRP introduced the Outlander 650 H.O. EFI in North America. Now it is reviving the Can-Am brand. "Can-Am is part of our history, our heritage and our future," concluded Boisjoli. “For BRP, Ski-Doo means snowmobiles; Sea-Doo, watercraft and sport boats; Evinrude, outboard engines. Can-Am will, from now on, mean ATVs.”
Can-Am Renegade 800 H.O. EFI. This model, says BRP, combines sport quad performance with 4x4 capability. For enthusiasts taking their quads on longer trips, Can-Am has the Outlander MAX 800 H.O. EFI Ltd, a two-rider vehicle with ultra-premium features such as color GPS, silver and chrome accents, and cast aluminum wheels.
Like the Outlander MAX Ltd model, the new Can-Am Outlander 500 H.O. EFI is based on the 800 and 650 EFI V-twin powerplants. With the Outlander 400 H.O., every Can-Am Outlander model is the most powerful in its class, says BRP, is made to deliver light, crisp handling and comes with such features as Surrounding Spar Technology (SST) frame, Torsion Trailing Independent (TTI) rear suspension and Visco-Lok automatic front differential.
The Can-Am Rally model is the Can-Am entry-level rec-utility quad, with the most powerful engine in its class.
Complementing the DS 650 X, the most decorated long-distance racing quad, is the Can-Am DS250TM, an entry-level sport quad.
For kids, the Can-Am lineup offers two youth ATVs – the DS 90TM four-stroke engine model and the DS 50TM, a two-stroke model.
BRP is also adding a new line of Can-Am sportswear and riding gear.
