First Ihave to give a little background so I am not misunderstood. Iam a 40year old black/white and red all american that has had two jobs for 10 years, & father of three. Jobs are system operator and construction worker. I think alot of the problem is the lazy Americans and Mexicans (please do not take offence unless you are lazy). There should be little to no unemployment in this country because, for every American without a job there is one with two or an illeagal with one. I not ignorant to circumstances beyond our control but lets face it most (not all) of the younger generation and others do not want to pay any dues. what I mean they won't work their but off for 15 dollars an hour let alone 7.50. I have been working construction for over 25 years and I don't see many young Americans paying any dues they just want it to fall out the sky. I try to get my kids hands dirty and teach them how to work but it is a different world then when I was a kid. Just about everyone knows what I am talking about, they want Dad or Mom to get for them or do for them. Sometimes I am a one man stucco-show because the help is not worth the effort not to mention the money. Now it is not so bad with the illeagals because we need them here to get some of the work done ,but what's going to happen when the intrest rates go up, construction andthe economy cools off and there still coming.
I feel it is not a simple solution to a simple problem but they lazy (Americans or otherwise) doesn't help any.

Sorry for the long quote, but you touched on a few things.
OK, so I'm 48. I've worked some jobs with "kids" half my age and I could run circles around them. I like to stay busy and get in shape. I don't work for anyone because you can't make good money that way, they do. I bust my butt and make my own money and more of it. I don't see young kids anymore(pre 16) throwing newspapers or odd jobs like that. You sure brought back some memories. I used to mow grass and wash cars so that I could buy what I wanted. I was 19 and bought my first house. I don't see anyone doing that today. Of course I can't afford it either.
I have to say I spoil my daughters but they know the gravy train stops when they graduate college. I will never let them down and will always help them, but me and momma want to enjoy life and they better get some good paying careers to get thru life.

I definetely agree that the lazy non-productive, but legal, leeches siphoning our system are just as much a problem as the illegals no matter what race they are. Some are probably worse because they'll be in this country their whole lives sucking our system dry while making excuses about how they got a raw deal in one way or another. We have legal and illegal scumbags in our country. It's unfortunate we can't kick out all the parasites whether they're legal or not, and whatever race they happen to be.

As far as young people working hard, I've seen a huge decline in that myself. And more and more, they aren't worth a crap even if they did work hard. I grew up working on everything. My Dad never hired anybody to do something that he had the ability to do, or that he could figure out how. My brother's and I helped my father build our house from the ground up. That's everything from digging out the cellar from under the original house with a drag scoop intended to be pulled behind a team of horses. We dragged it with a tractor until there was room enough for the tractor. The house construction started when I was 7, but we were working on cars, lawn mowers, tractors, heating systems, you name it, since we could hold tools. My Dad worked extremely hard his entire life, and taught us to do the same. The first vacation we ever took was the trip to AZ I referred to earlier, and when we were on vacation we had to come back halfway through because my aunt got murdered. The next vacation we took was when I was 16. Both vacations we took in my childhood were to visit family, not a theme park. And during both those vacations my father, and us sometimes, helped our family on their houses, vehicles, and trailers.

I started in my trade 7 years ago. I started at $6.50/hr and busted my @ss all the way up until I got my license. I still work hard, but I was out to make a name for myself. Because all that I learned working with my father on just about everything, I was pretty well mechanically inclined. This helped me to understand how things worked better than even a lot of licensed guys, before I was licensed. I don't see anybody with that kind of a work ethic in anybody coming up through right now and it's sad. I figured I'd bust my butt like that and when I got my license, I'd have people like that working under me. But it's rare to find an apprentice that you can leave alone and not have a worry whether they're working or whether they're doing things right.

I copied this email that somebody posted in the dootalk forum:

Subject: Read this! THIS IS SCAREY

"You old white people. It is your duty to die."

HISPANIC LEADERS SPEAK OUT!

Augustin Cebada, Brown Berets; "Go back to Boston! Go back to
Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and
tired. Go on. We have beaten you. Leave like beaten rats. You old white
people. It is your duty to die . . Through love of having children, we are
going to take over.

Richard Alatorre, Los Angeles City Council. "They're afraid we're
going to take over the governmental institutions and other institutions.
They're right. We will take them over . . . We are here to stay."

Excelsior, the national newspaper of Mexico, "The American Southwest
seems to be slowly returning to the jurisdiction of Mexico without firing a
single shot."

Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez, University of Texas; "We have an
aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. The
explosion is in our population . . . I love it. They are sh&%ting in their
pants with fear. I love it."

Art Torres, Chairman of the California Democratic Party, "Remember
187--proposition to deny taxpayer funds for services to non-citizens--was
the last gasp of white America in California."

Gloria Molina, Los Angeles County Supervisor, "We are politicizing
every single one of these new citizens that are becoming citizens of this
country . . . I gotta tell you that a lot of people are saying, "I'm going
to go out there and vote because I want to pay them back."

Mario Obledo, California Coalition of Hispanic Organizations and
California State Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare under Governor
Jerry Brown, also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President
Bill Clinton, "California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who
doesn't like it should leave."

Jose Pescador Osuna, Mexican Consul General , "We are practicing 'La
Reconquista' in California."

Professor Fernando Guerra, Loyola Marymount University; "We need to
avoid a white backlash by using codes understood by Latinos . . . "

Are these just the words of a few extremists? Consider that we could
fill up many pages with such quotes. Also, consider that these are
mainstream Mexican leaders.

THE U.S. VS MEXICO:
On February 15, 1998, the U.S. and Mexican soccer teams met at the
Los Angeles Coliseum. The crowd was overwhelmingly pro-Mexican even though
most lived in this country. They booed during the National Anthem and U.S.
flags were held upside down. As the match progressed, supporters of the
U.S. team were insulted, pelted with projectiles, punched and spat upon.
Beer and trash were thrown at the U.S. players before and after the match.
The coach of the U.S. team, Steve Sampson said, "This was the most painful
experience I have ever had in this profession."

Did you know that immigrants from Mexico and other non-European
countries can come to this country and get preferences in jobs, education,
and government contracts? It's called affirmative action or racial
privilege. The Emperor of Japan or the President of Mexico could migrate
here and immediately be eligible for special rights unavailable for
Americans of European descent. Recently, a vote was taken in the U.S.
Congress to end this practice. It was defeated. Every single Democratic
senator except Ernest Hollings voted to maintain special privileges for
Hispanic, Asian and African immigrants. They were joined by thirteen
Republicans. Bill Clinton and Al Gore have repeatedly stated that they
believe that massive immigration from countries like Mexico is good. They
have also backed special privileges for these immigrants.

Corporate America has signed on to the idea that minorities and third
world immigrants should get special, privileged status. Some examples are
Exxon, Texaco, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, Paine Weber, Starbucks and many more.

DID YOU KNOW?:
Did you know that Mexico regularly intercedes on the side of the
defense in criminal cases involving Mexican nationals? Did you know that
Mexico has NEVER extradited a Mexican national accused of murder in the U.S.
in spite of agreements to do so? According to the L.A. Times, Orange
County, California is home to 275 gangs with 17,000 members; 98% of which
are Mexican and Asian. How's your county doing?

According to a New York Times article dated May 19, 1994, 20 years
after the great influx of legal immigrants from Southeast Asia, 30% are
still on welfare compared to 8% of households nationwide. A Wall Street
Journal editorial dated December 5, 1994 quotes law enforcement officials as
stating that Asian mobsters are the "greatest criminal challenge the country
faces." Not bad for a group that is still under 5% of the population.

Is education important to you? Here are the words of a teacher who
spent over 20 years in the Los Angeles School system. "Imagine teachers in
classes containing 30-40 students of widely varying
attention spans and motivation, many of whom aren't fluent in
English. Educators seek learning materials likely to reach the majority of
students and that means fewer words and math problems and more pictures and
multicultural references."

WHEN I WAS YOUNG:
When I was young, I remember hearing about the immigrants that came
through Ellis Island. They wanted to learn English. They wanted to breath
free. They wanted to become Americans. Now too many immigrants come here
with demands. They demand to be taught in their own language. They demand
special privileges--affirmative action. They demand ethnic studies that
glorify their culture.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?:
Send copies of this letter to at least two other people, 100 would be
even better. Help us get the word out.

I thought i would give my thoughts on this problem.... I am 25 and am self employed. I build decks all year long (winters are a b!tch)for the #1 in sells home builder in Omaha Nebraska. I dont have a crew, therefore i usually build the decks by myself! I have been through 5 employees in the last year and 4 were mexican. I would figure base pay by experience and give raises often! Three of the four guys lasted a week or less and the first guy i hired lasted 3 months. The reason for him quitting was me only working 40-45 hrs a week.... he would rather hang siding for half the hour rate i payed him and work 80 hrs a week! I didnt understand! But all the white guys i run into want huge salaries and dont want to work in the mud, heat, cold, rain or snow! So after a years work of helpers i decided to work alone. In the construction trade, i am the minority these days and instead of me hiring a mexican....treating him fairly with a fair wage he would rather work for a mexican boss and be treated as a slave! The mexicans in my area have drivin the construction earnings WAY down because they will underbid me and flood the jobsite with 20 mexicans at 6.00 per hour! Sorry for Rambling on

I have seen similar things in my neck of the woods. There is another factor here as well. The fact that the unemployment rate is at 4.7% has its down side. Have any of you out there tried to hire anyone lately? It is a joke! 99% of the 4.7% that aren't employed are unemployable. And anyone who is currently unemployed and offended by my statement, I wasn't talking about you. You are the 1% I would love to find

I would hire a Mexican in a heartbeat............but I he would have to be willing to meet me at the SS office to be verified for legality
