Yep, you got it in the right place.

I have always had some oil in that case as well. So if its not normal, I'm right there with ya.

SON OF A BRICHH, i put that washer on the other side of the motor 2 years ago on the water pump shaft. just tore motor down found broken wrist pin clip. this time i will make sure washer goes on where its suppposed to. strange i did not find anything in service manual. good info thanks,,,

You'll have a little oil in there, but it shouldn't be of abundance. Remember that the case caps on that side have O-rings which means there will be oil. That said, it probably wasn't 3/4 of a quart. Oil is like blood.... A little looks like a LOT! Same as the other side of the motor (clutch side). There will be oil but not alot. I realize we are in the subjective world right now... but just know that you are fine.

Did you get that bolt on the fly wheel replaced???? That was the time to do it. If you didn't, I can replace it next time I'm in there.
