Man is this still going on?? Okay twenty, since you lack the ability to substantitate your assumptions, I had the CEO of Bombardier email this financial summary for the last year they owned the recreational vehicles division and prior years back to 2001. It is also online in the '03 report for your viewing pleasure. I told him of your uncanny ability to discern a company's financial state and thought process from executive statements and press releases, and he would like to offer you a job. (he won't hold the tough LA public school education against you). Review the following at your leisure and then tell us one last time that the recreational vehicle segment was losing money.

OUCH!! So, just a coincidence that Bombardier sold off the profitable Rec. division the same year the Aerospace division lost a huge chunk?? I'm just dying to see what kind of response you get here. Now the spreadsheet is jumbled because of the format change but looks like the Rec. division was CLEARLY profitable while the Aerospace division drug down the entire companies bottom line.

I told him of your uncanny ability to discern a company's financial state and thought process from executive statements and press releases, and he would like to offer you a job
however, i think we will have to agree to disagree. you are unwavering fans that i never wanted to "un-fan" you, just to highlight a couple concerns i had.
we do agree on some things:
the renegade will be fast
bombardier does make good products
i never doubted these two things. i was just alittle concerned when a company starts renaming themselves ive been through that before and it usually signals desperation. but hey, if it works out, im glad for brp/can-am, the whole indusrty. if they ever make a lighter bike (maybe a in the sport area) ive give them a shot. if this 450 twin they have rumored is true then id love to see it.
and no i never said to make an 800cc 450lb 4x4 quad. i said make a lightweight, high-performance 4x4 quad that weighed around 450lbs. i still think 10K is too high for the product and it's too heavy...
cannondale had a high price that not many were willing to pay, which is one reason why they went under. i think that ultimately, cannondale woke up the OEMS into making better products. like i have said- i hate to see brp stop making quads b/c they cant sell them b/c the price is too high...
MDOG?- if you wanna find me the thing where honda wanted BRP, then do it b/c i have pretty close ties with Honda and havent heard this one. If its is true i, will retract what i said about that. Im a fair man. denny crane.

fine, id go work for them for the right $$$$! guys, i did quote actual releases and financial statements- it showed a BRP loss for fiscal yr 2006 vs fiscal yr 2005 with $46million in losses due to reduction in number of units sold. go read it- its back about 4 pages???
>>>>>>>>>>
This isn't exactly the point. You suggested that Bombardier unloaded BRP because it was a drain on the company's bottom line. Clearly it wasn't a drain, it was profitable. How profitable? Hard to say without knowing what their profit margins are, average ROI etc...It's not THAT unusual for a newly acquired company to lose money it's first financial year as it goes through the typical restructuring that goes on within a change like that and now being privately held does not have to answer to Wall St, this gives the company the ability to cut whatever fat was necessary it's first year so as to not burden the company going forward. Generally an acquired company needs to clean the books, one time tax charges, lawsuit settlements, severence, etc. Some of these changes included discontinuing the Traxter and Quest models along with the Outlander 330.
You keep saying that they won't be able to market these expensive quads, clearly they can and have, they can't keep up with demand.
