thebom dyno "tunning"

Scott,
I think you and I have at least developed a respect for eachother, even though I know we don't see everything the same way. I know I respect you because I think you are completely honest. That's what really matters.
That being said, I know you pulled 58+ hp out of your bike at HPR. Now I know the drill on comparing different dyno's but do you think if you took the mighty spiderbike back down to HPR with the improved tuning you found that it would read at 66+ hp ( also an 8 hp increase)?
I hope you feel that's a fair question

Ron, I think that is a very, very fair question. I have made that very same statement myself. I really sit here and wonder what I would have pulled if I would have drove straight to Kentucky and pulled the bike. It would have been very interesting. Afterall, its only about 3hrs away. LOL! But, I didnt, so there isnt any need in digging any deeper in that direction. Although, the bike certainly feels stronger. I definitely dont think its anything close to 66hp.

Thanks Scott.
The fact that the bike felt stronger is the key I actually think if you went down to HPR right now as it is tuned it would read lower than 58. I would be willing to bet if they tuned it back to or close to the original settings that it would come back in closer to the 58 again.
The reason I think that is you could very easily tune perfectly to the O2 perameters and get the optimal fuel curve then drive an hour away and change only few hundred feet of elevation and be way off especially if the conditions of the day were very different. Like I stated in my earlier post, there is 5 - 6 hp difference between Salem and Florence in Oregon which are about 2 hrs apart. There is even about 2 hp difference between Florence and Winchester Bay which are right next to eachother on the Oregon Coast. Winchester seems to have a higher oxygen count in the air. The bikes run faster there and I could stand to do a 1/4 turn richer on the metering rod at Winchester as well as 10 pts richer on powerjet. Something to at least consider
I will be seeing you soon You have a cool name for your ride. I have been trying to think of one for mine............
Here is what I have been considering:
Hazel
Brazil
Wal
or possibly Macadamia
I would appreciate your insight into my dilemma
