Yes, Goodsounds bike is nothing less than spectacular. Power is not an object. It gets down and gets around with the big man aboard. But really puts on a show with Bomberboy at the helm. Congrats Goodsound. You deserve it.

Thankyou, but I dont deserve all the credit if any at all. Shmee and I put the motor together actully he was the one with all the knowledge and I was there to help and learn. Jeff was the one who advised me on what to do and what to get after that. Once I had every thing on and put together I went down to Jeffs to have him dyno tune and put a few final touchs on it and waylaw its done and it runs good. So thanks to all my good buddies that helped me out.

PS: I gotta thank crazypainter for inspiring me to get a DS after always whooping my predator.

DSNUT, Why do you think my bike dynoed 10hp less, 1 yr later on another dyno without being touched/tuned since I last had it dynoed?

Scott,

You haven't called me DSNUT in a long time..........

Ask Mario about the differences in dyno's, lol. He hates how different the dyno's are in his area from other dyno's because the results seem disappointing..........until he gets to the hill and remembers those dyno's always are conservative. I have seen a 9.5 hp difference on the same bike between Redline's dyno in Lebanon, Or and Dave Moore's dyno in Salem, OR about 30 minutes away and only about 2 weeks apart in dyno sessions.

We dynoed at redline, got 49 hp pipe, intake and TM45. With no change in tuning we put the same bike on Dave Moore's dyno and pulled 58.5 hp at the same rpm. There was that much difference in the dyno and the conditions of the two different days. We used the same tires for both runs.

Dyno's are completely relative only to themselves.

Another example. I dynoed my stock bore stage 3 on TVI's dyno at Dunefest last year. Like an idiot I didn't have my throttle adjusted properly so the slide was only opening 75%. I pulled 54.7 hp. I dynoed my 730 with a trailhead at redline and only got 55 hp out of it. On the hill the 730 compared to my stage 3 would pull it by 4 or 5 lengths............yet only .3 hp more...........and that is after I properly adjusted my carb on the stock bore.

My thoughts are nothing against Jeff. I like Jeff based on our limited interaction and Scott I only have a problem with one builder and you know who that is. It isn't Jeff

I know he knows how to tune a carb.

Hopefully this information is useful.

Ron

Ron, I do take this info as useful. Its just a stigma in my mind that keeps me wondering if this carb got "out of tune" of if at the least, Jeff's dyno is that conservative and that my bolt-on bike makes that much power. Nevertheless, the bike pulled 2hp difference between both dyno's and I couldnt be any happier.

Im not intending to start pulling at both builders to compare their abilities with these responses and think others should do the same,

I agree. For a bolt on bike running on Gas............56 - 58 rwhp is a strong motor. You must have broken it in right I had to have some porting and 13:1 before I reached those numbers.............................

But of course I was measuring on a different dyno

Yeah, Im not one to play the dyno games. I think this bike is certainly making power. To have my bike pull within 2hp on two of the biggest builders in the country is exceptional in my book. I agree that the 2hp could have been the difference in temp/humidity. Who knows! Who cares! LOL!

But just to keep things in perspective, I do have an utmost respect for both of these builders and continue to stand behind both of them as we strive forward in our quest to put BOMBARDIER FIRST,

I want to start off saying that Jeff Ross and family are the finest people you will meet and that everything Jeff tells you your bike will do after he is finished it does it. After talking to Jeff on what and individual wants to do you will find out that Jeff isnt there just to sell you something he is there to accomplish what you want to with doing it as reasonably priced as he can. I personally went with Jeff's race head, bigger valves and a TM48. I allready had a 12 1/2 - 1 piston, Web 109 Cams, Jeff's Drag Pipe, Ron Woods Cdi, JJ@A Drag Axle from Sandbomer( On Dunes) and a + 4 Swingarm. I allmost forgot he also installed a nice little blue bottle that said NOS on it. I could say on here what it did on the Dyno but all that seems to do is cause alot of arguements. But if any body who has interest in this same build PM me and I will be happy to tell you. I got back from Missouri to Texas at 3:00 A.M. Sunday morning slept a couple of hours and went to the local park to try it out. All I can say is WOW. The performance was more than i thought it would be. The only down side to this new build is that my bike now is basically unrideable due to setup which is a good problem to have and Jeff had warned me of that but we will be working on that next.
Thanks alot Jeff great job!
