Yup, you will need new bar clamps if you are going from 7/8" to the Pro Taper 1 1/8" bars.

So Bioware, you did not have to change to a raised bar clamp when going to the pro tapers? Do they have a DS bend or something? I was under the impression that almost any aftermarket bar would need a raised clamp to keep the bars from hitting the tank.

I have no problem with the bars touching the gas tank. I can still get the same distance in the turning. They are a little bit lower but feel fine. Plus they are shorter by about 1/2 inch on on both ends. But I really love these bars very light weight. I just feel very comfortable with these bars. no complaints here.......

It looks like rocky mountain has pro taper bars, but you may want to call on-dunes or somebody like that to see about the new bar clamp.

Have a look at the Trailtech x-bar and clamp set up. About 120 bucks, real close to stock bend. I dig mine
