Default Outlander 800 Odo question

Hey all, I just bought an '06 Bomb Outlander 800 XT and was wondering if someone can help me out with an odometer question. It was missing the owner's manual when I bought it and I can't figure out how to convert the odometer from km to miles. I've tried pressing and holding down every button I can think of but nothing works. Can someone tell me how to switch the odometer/speedometer from kilometers to miles?? Thanks-

All I was shown (by the dealer) is to push the little rubber button and it goes to miles. In fact that is how you scroll through all of the options. Why wern't you given an manual? Just curious.

If you hold the button in on the rpm setting on the lcd it will change the pointer to rpm and give you the speed in the lcd after 10 mph.I don't think you can change kph to mph with the button.

Default Outlander 800 Odo question

Pastor, I bought it used from a private seller and he was missing the Owner's Manual. I will be ordering one from the local dealer, but haven't had the time to do so yet. I've pressed the rubber button a million times and tried holding it down in all of the functions, but nothing works. Went on the BRP website and they say they have all owner's manuals available for download, but there is nothing under the 2006 ATV directory. Oh, well. Guess I'll have to deal with km instead of miles until I can get this taken care of. It doesn't make any sense for it to have to be switched by the dealer though, as every other vehicle in this planet can be changed by simply pressing a button. I even pulled up an '05 Outlander 400 model and you have to go under the gauge cluster and switch the wire harness from one to the other. Hoping it doesn't take that for the 800, but it's still not that difficult. Just doesn't seem to be very user friendly.

So it looks like I'm going to have to bring it in to the dealer to get the speedo changed over. What kind of sh*t is that? Although I'm the second owner, I know my Outy began as a USA model (the Cert of Origin shows that it was shipped from the factory to a local dealer here in VA). So I wonder why anyone would switch it over to km. Perhaps the first owner was a Canadian posing as an American?? :-) Not that it makes much difference, but I'd rather my odo show 105 miles that 190 km!!
