Good post JT. Pastor, I'm glad you're proud of your Outy - all of us are. I can't be with you on this one though, cause the thread title is a braggart type of comment.

I was on the Kawasaki forum for about 3 yrs, and those guys are also a family, responsible guys, no bashing, and are out to help fellow members. Just look at all the tech tips by nyroc and KOD. No other forum has that. I think our average age is a little above the other forums average, but that doesn't translate to an elite group.

Go ahead and ride your bike, sing its praises, but I suggest that we as a group would rather not call ourselves elitists. Truth be said though, I am one proud bike owner.
Well put kawiyowee. I am glad that Pastor likes his new ride. It is unfortunate that his quad defines him as a person.

Pastor, you sir, are wrong. I disagree that you are elite. I agree entirely with the fact that you feel a comraderie with your fellow BRP owners, and so you should. I would like to think that everyone here feels that way when they post on this site. We are all ATV enthusiasts and we all have a little personal pride in our rides. If we didn't, most of us wouldn't be posting here. That being the case, I would think that you could expect some flaming for starting this kind of a thread. I don't bash other's for their choices and I don't expect to be belittled for my choices. There are probably guys on here who would like to join the BRP family but either don't have access, the funds, or proper dealer support to make that commitment. Your remarks are condescending. I am not a BRP owner but I like to come over here and read and learn about their machines. Who knows, if I could find a local dealer worth talking to, I might buy a Can-Am next time. I usually don't post much and try to show due respect when I do. So, I DO understand, I know what it is like to belong to a closely-knit group of people. You show your narrow minded opinion by saying that just because I don't own a BRP that I can't unerstand this type of bond. You hurt our sport with these kinds of remarks. And even though I am just a lowly Polaris owner, not worthy of your attention, I would still ride with you and not judge you for your choices. I forgive you.

I do accept the chastisement...humbly. It wasn't my intention to 'put down" other bikes. I have had my share of other bikes and greatly appreciate what I own now. Let me explain, if I may, where I am coming from. Bombardier is the underdog in an already saturated market. The big 5: Polaris, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, anf Kawasaki have dominated the market for aeons. The Bomb shows up...no one seems to pay too much attention. A few years pass...some nice stuff is produced and the ball starts rolling. 2006...everything changes. I bought a Outlander after first being very critical of what I didnt understand. Now...I understand. When I find others that understand..there is a connection. The elitism is NOT a superiority...it's just a difference. One that came from discovery. Simply put. I really respect everyone on this site and consider it a privelege to be here.

JTGrizzly...All I can say friend is that i found something that "smokes" the King Quad...big time. Sorry, if you find this offensive.

Pastor, I think the problem is that the word elite certainly implies superiority. Definition. The implication of your post is that owning a Bomb somehow makes you superior to all of us that do not. Obviously, that will not sit well with a lot of folks.

I think you meant that it is kind of like Harley owners or even Prius owners. There is an instant sense of comradery simply by owning one.

LawdogB2 & Rseb, I couldn't agree with you more on your statements. I tried to bring up this exact train of thought early on in the thread, but people just want to think of themselves as an 'elitest", I said it before, and will say it agian, I have nothing against Bombs, but we are ALL part of the ATV community. It just happens that the bike that fits me the best is a yammy, and not a DS..... I guess if you owned a outy, Harley, and a Prius, you just might be an elitest...

Anyone who thinks that something they have makes them better than someone else, misunderstands their own value

It is not the bike that makes the person. Each "group" has a number of bad pennies, or just plain jerks. Could it be as simple as a percentage thing? possibly. Bomb owner being a much smaller group in the number aspects. If 10% of the Bombers are jerks, that only puts out a handful. Compared to maybe 10% of Yammy owners being jerks, well that number is off the charts......

Of course it may not be that simple, and it is just that for the time being the vast majority of those that just so happen to own a bomb are a special group in of themselves. I know I have never met so many with the same goals in mind, and are so willing to tare thier own bike apart, to get a piece replaced on the winning draggers bike. How cool is that... But again, it is not the bike that makes the man, but the men that make the bikes.....And ladies of course (Tracy can't leave you out)

We really like the X2 so far. We bought it focusing primarlily on the utility uses of the machine. We view the 2-up capacity as a feature and not a necessity. When we first bought it we went and shook it out. I rode "bitch" for a good while and liked the seat okay. I hear people complain about the comfort of the rear seat. I am not too worried about it. It is plenty comfy enough and you don't need a Lazy Boy like ride. You need an active participant as a passenger so they don't need to be taking a nap back there. The location of the foot boards and the hand holds made it easy to assist the driver. We won't be doing any planned long range 2-up riding but it is nice to have that capacity when you need it. So far, we have used it for short relays when someone else is broke on the trail or just needs a ride. I haven't noticed any hard steering. I thought that it steered a bit lighter than my 800. Now that you brought it up, I will have to ride them back to back and check it out. I have been working the crap out of it. Most recently, I have been using it to help clear some trees. It has pulled logs and stumps and hasn't really complained yet. I have had probably 360 lbs in the bed and it performed well. Mostly though, it carries me and my chainsaw and all of the associated stuff around. It is a little different having the extra wheelbase but I have had it on the trails and was able to go everywhere my 800, a 450R, a Banshee, and BF750 went. That's probably more info than you were looking for, but yeah, we like it pretty good so far. Thanks for asking.

Pastor,I would be the first to admit that the 800 "smokes" the King, but I just see you typing all these posts that are possibly making you feel good about your purchases, just as you did about the King when you had that. Now "if" you had some trouble with the Bomb in the future will you do a 180 and torch them for there product and move on to bragging about your next "superior" machine?
