Small 800 issues
I think what you want to get a little more GC and not bottom out is to have a set of rear short springs from the 800XT installed on the front. BRP is just not addressing this problem. My dealer is going to do this cause I asked him to, not because he volunteered. It's the party line that there is no problem with GC or diving ride. That's their story and they're sticking to it.
It's not easy to engage our Outy power at 1750 or 1800 rpms without something moving a little quick. I think you'll get the hang of it as you handle it more. Mine has a tendency to jerk, but I just try to hold the line at 1750 or 1800, getting pretty good at it.
The stock air filter is a good filter. Just got back from dry dusty Utah, 400 miles in 4 days. Checked the filter and changed it with the extra filter set I bought, but I didn't really have to, it was good for a few more dusty rides. The foam needs to be tack oiled in order for it to pick up small stuff and a lot of it. Ask away if you're not sure how to tack it and still not get oil on the cotton filter next to it.
My fan comes on even riding in snow, it just depends on how hard you're working your quad. I don't worry about mine coming on in winter since it's a big engine and the exhaust pipe temp is about 600+* coming off the engine.
