Default Dodge Ram or Outlander 800???

IMHO I would crate motor it if the truck is in nice shape. The new crate motors are REALLY nice. I'm not a Ford man so I don't know what they get for a 351 but my buddy just bought a 350 bow tie for about 4K and it is NICE!!

I'd have to disagree with that from a money return stand point. A crate motor for an old muscle that is no longer original is a good idea. But you will never recoup the 4K from an 89 F150. Besides, it will never "drive" like a new truck. That 4K would be better spent on a new truck or quad. The 302 isn't a bad motor. But I agree 50HP out of those mods? No way.

sell the Saturn.... joking

Go and get you a motor out of a wrecked early 90 mustang, 225 horse power and 300 ft/lbs stock. And go get the renegade.

You all must drive with your foot on the floor in those Hemis. Even if I used the computer figures which are always about .5 gallon high, I have never gotten less than 11mpg, of course I have never gotten over 16.5 either...

You have to be putting out more hp than 150, I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4.6, and it makes 235hp 300tq outta the factory, I have added exhaust on it, not sure if I got any gains but with the 4.6 ram I get 13mpg in the city, and 17-18 on the highway with cruise set at 70.

Go with the Bomb, if your truck runs good, just throw on the exaust and chip with the intake, the hemi is over rated. It is a nice truck but the bomb is even nicer and it is nice having a back up quad. IMO

OK, I have a question about this post. What in the world is a 4.6? Ford makes a 4.6, Dodge makes a 4.7.
Now if it's a 4.7, in 2003 it was rated at 245 HP. 100HP less than the Hemi and 10 more than the 5.9L 360C.I. that it replaced. The 4.7L makes better power and gets better milage than the Dodge 360 or any Ford 302 or 351, especially one from the late 80's. 185HP for the Ford sounds about right.

Yes, I do drive with my foot on the floor. Isn't that what the Hemi is for?
