I went through two chain rollers this weekend. I was riding in Coos Bay Or. on the Oregon Dunes. The stock one only lasted an hour of hard riding. The other was made by UPP and it lasted about 6 hours but eventually was toast as well. I adjusted the chain just as described in the owners manual before every ride. I also set the suspesion to have about 2 3/4" of rider sag. I'm 6'3" and weigh about 270. Other then the rollers There was one other thing that bothered me. When I would hit the bottom of the hill the bike would be at full song in third but about midway to three quarters it would almost fall flat on it's face. I usually had to go up in second gear and hold it just about to the rev limiter to make it up with no problems. I'm running pretty much stock with an K&N filter and jet kit (new needle DNO711 clip on second position and a 175 main jet with the mixture screw about 1 3/4 turns out). I was running 20-12-9 Kenda trackers. (paddles)

Anyone have any advice as to help with the above situation? I'm looking at buying a new pipe and so far I have heard more good things about the Gradone Proline than anything else. Anyone have any recomendations?

duncan racing has a twin pipe double barrel available in about a month. Phone (619)258-6306 west coast. White bros may have an r4 pipe. YRD has a slip on.

FYI: don't expect to easily notice much if any peak power gain with any pipe for the DS650. The gains are mainly in the lowend power and acceleration. In other words, in deep soft sand for example, where it isn't too hard to top out in 5th gear, with a pipe that gains noticeable peak HP, you will be able to top out at a noticeably higher speed than stock, but with a pipe on the DS650 I didn't notice any significant top speed gain.

I sold my Banshee and bought a 2001 DS last week, my first trip with the new DS was to Glamis this past weekend. A friend had went through several rollers himself, so prior to the trip I bought a polyprop skateboard wheel (2.250inch OD) with top of the line bearings and carefully shimmed the wheel inplace of the stock piece of c**p. It cost me $5.00 and worked great. I love the new DS I'm thinking about the Ron Woods Stage I kit right away. Does anyone have any comments on the carb that comes with this kit?

What are the part numbers for the K&N filter & pre-filter that connects directly to the stock carb w/o airbox? Who sells them?

Scooby, The part # for the filter that mounts directly is #SN-2550 I'm not sure what the part # is for the pre-filter but I bought mine from Outerwares. They are the manufactures of pre-filters and shockwares. You can look them up at the following web address: http://www.outerwearsracing.com/
When I called them they were extremely helpful and gave me a generous discount compared to my dealer. I was extremly pleased.
