AC two ups are not as stable as the outtys they are also under powered and over weight they are about 100lb more than outty. They perform poorly and if you want one you can buy them used cheap.

I have the 2006 X2 from Polaris and we love it. With two people riding in tight trails I am on their tails of BuRPs 800 maxs wanting to go faster.
It is not just a Sportsman 500efi with a seat slapped on. It is a new frame longer than standard single seater just like BuRP and AC, with IRS, turf mode and a flip up seat for two up riding, and a dump bed. Yes the seat looks and feels less comfy then the AC or the BOMB but after riding it my wife has not complain. I think they can/will improve this over time But after owning one and riding it and riding the Bomb it is a good entry into the growing market. Right now Polaris lacks the accessories for the X2, such as rear bumpers and etc, but most of everything else that would go on a Sportsman will/should fit.
For 2007, Polaris is thinking of releasing a sp800X2. That is unofficial, (but it is in the Manual referance guides) and the BuRP 650 will not out perform the sp800, come on. I have a friend (that most Bomb forum lurkers probly know) who works at a Bomb dealer that won't even claim that.
My average trail speed is 20-30mph. If I wanted to race, sled pull, rock climb or be the Bad A$$ I would have waited for the 800 X2, I would not have gone with the BuRP 800 max. I felt my 2004 sp600 handled better with two people on it then the BuRP did with one person on it. And that could just be that I am spoiled with Polaris. lol. Serously the Can-Am are becoming a strong ATV competiater with a good product and it still has its faults.

When it comes to two up atvs outty is far a head of Polaris and Cat. First look at weigh both are over 100lbs more than the outty.Next engine power the new 800 x2 has only 50 thats 5 less than a outty 650 and 12 less than a outty 800 and only 3 more than the new 500 and the cat has no power. A outty will side hill and handle better because it has a lower center of gravity. Polaris engine braking is on the rear wheels only on a steep hill they will brake loss unless hold the brake and give it power not fun I had 4 Polaris the key word is had. So if you what a tank get a Polaris or Cat.
