Default DS Days Roll Call

well, I didn't think the wagons would start rolling in as early as Thursday, but that's great with me! I was planning on getting there Thursday also and figured I'd be all by myself. I'll be in an old 77 motorhome (she's in good shape though) with 2 horizontal black stripes around it. Yeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Ride 'em cowboy!!!

Sounds like I need to send my carb to beechman then,

Yep. Im thinking about just ordering a "super jet" from Dave Moore and installing it myself. Its suppose to atomize the fuel instead of squirting a steady stream into the cylinder...causing a rich condition. Let me know how yours holds up.

Hey was that what was done to Scott carb? Jeremey's carb acts the same as yours did Mario, so it must be an issue across the board. I just wonder why Scott top end was so strong.

Whats a super jet?

Check out davemooreracing.com! I definitely like his way of thinking.

Scott - I support Dave Moore and the superjets are awsome but I tried one in my 48 lectron and they push too much fuel for a gas motor. It worked quite well on the 800 but it pushes a ton of fuel for a Gas motor.

Here is what I did; I accidently broke my powerjet so instead of sending the carb to Lectron, I had Dave install a superjet. With the 730 motor the bike ran the very best with the superjet completely closed, LMAO.

I had to lean the metering rod down to the point where it was too lean just off idle until the vacuum sig would allow fuel to start pulling through the super jet which compensated for the midrange all the way to the top. It worked great and made lots of power and the lean bottom right off idle actually produced better than normal throttle crispness for a lectron. It was great for drag racing but you couldn't trail it..........it was that lean That still only allowed me to open the 3 turn superjet a 1/4 turn. It really needed another circuit like an adjustable power jet that could be added and closed most of the way off so it only came on at WOT and above 7000 rpm. That would have been ideal but the superjets are so big in the carb throat, I worry about restricting air flow...........

I would look no further than a superjet for an Alky motor..........and if you are pushing NM, they are the only thing that will flow enough that can atomize.

I hope this helps

Jed, What gets my goat is that YOU SAW first hand how much more top end I had with Scott Cobbs carb. I think he has a dual PJ 1 fixed and 1 adjustable (dont quote me). BUT my carb had MUCHO more bottom end than Scotts. . Kinda like a totally different motor but it wast. Even on the dyno my carb looked optimum across the board with my carb .. I have a superjet and it looks like the dave moore super but it has a different style dial than dave moores. So I dont know what beechman did but I can give it so much fuel it boggs at 7k rpm and it adjust Till there NO FUEL. So fuel FLOW is NOT an issue with my new set up. I leaned it out till she free reved to 10 k. Then took it on the street and did a few more adjustments. What I can feel is the bottom end is making great power. I havent even came close to fine tuning the dial a jet but I have it running better than before. Its too hot too tune at 110 degrees and humid...

Scott, I would send it off, Unless you can epoxy and machine stuff. My carb looks better than ever I can tell you that!!LOL Must be the pretty fuel lines.

Ron- My dial jet can close off completely or give too much fuel but enables me to fine tune. I dont know what you tried but this one seem to be good to go.
