Default new outlander 800 is it a reliable Quad?

I am thinking about buying a new outlander 800, was wondering how they have been holding up, especialy the drive belt system. Has anyone had any problems or had to replace any belts yet, if so how many miles did you get on the first belt? How does the ride compare to a Grizzly, Brute force or King quad. Any advice would be greatle apreciated.

Ive got about 27miles on mine and have not had any problems what so ever

The ride is unbelievably smooth, as good or better than my DS.

Thanks to all for the input.

Pastor, how does the outlander compare to the king quad for smooth ride stability, and engine breaking, and does the clutch need a lot of RPM for engagement or does it ingage just above idle like the king and the Brute?

I have been to the dealer several times unfotunately I am not wise enough to figure all the questions I have just by sitting on one, because where I live that is all that I can do, no test rides allowed. That is wht I am asking these questions hopping some of you have had the oportunity to have ridden several diferent atv's and can pass that experience on.

I'm not Pastor but I guess I'll do - The KQ is a little easier to handle, the Outy rides just as good and sticks to the trail like glue. Outy idle is about 1250 - 1300 rpm, engages at 1750 - 1800 rpm. If you're not used to the throttle and the 800 cc's, it can jump out from under you if you're not careful with your thumb. You can stop that by holding the hand brake and slowly releasing it under control until you get used to the power. Engine braking, the Outy has the best EBS in it's class (cvt transmission). Put it in 4wd lo, start down a steep and rocky hill, you will wind up having to give it gas cause it's going too slow. No kidding, it damn near stops on even a steep hill.

Wing,
I have about 350 miles on mine and have had no issues at all. I traded in a 750 Brute Force for it and couldn't be happier. It rides great; handles like a sport and has more power than anything, almost too much power for your basic trail ride. You really need to be careful or you will stand it right up. The Brute did have power but it rode like crap, and it did not handle at all even with a set of c-series on 25 ATR's. The only machine IMO that even comes close is The 800 Sportsman. A friend of mine has one and it rides and handles very well. It's a little to big to really rip around but for a casual fast paced trail ride it I would say it is a close second to the Can-Am. If I have to give one negative aspect to the Can-Am is the shifter can be notchy and you need to rock it (the so-called Outty hump) from time to time. Other than that I haven’t had one complaint. Great machine.
