Anybody else had this problem? Installed it per directions, ran fine for about five rides and now it's going in reverse. What the hay? Checked the wiring and nothing is worn or shorted, I've changed nothing in the meantime. Too expensive to be broke so I'm at a loss as to the cause.

I don't know my only guess is the wiring is backwards or something else is wrong with the gauge...I don't have one on my ds so I couldn't tell ya exactly what does it hook up to wiring wise is there a sensor or anything.

 

Are you sure there wasnt a UFO traveling nearby when it started spinning backwards????? LOL

 

Hell I mounted one in the dash and hooked it up just like my other and it wont work. Ive tried everything

 

ACE your going back in time.......................when 3 wheelers were running in 85 your DS scares all the MFG into building 250R fourtrax and the LT250, quickly rewire to come back to the present!

Thought I'd bring this back to the top with an update.

I just unhooked the tach and utilizing the directions hooked everything back up. I did have it right the first time. Still ran backwards. Took the tach off of the other 03 and put it on the one with the bugs, ran fine. put the bad tach on the known good 03 and it you guessed it, ran backwards.

I'm assuming something has gone wrong with the electronics inside the tach. Do these OEM tachs come with any sort of warranty? It's only a couple of months old.

OMG! Ace! Every time you hook that faulty tach up your motor is running backwards! I bet if you put it in gear you will have 5 gears in reverse! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]
