Default I NEED HELP!!!!!!!

so my ds has been having issues as of late...itll start right up, idle fine and even move alittle but once i give it the gas it sounds like its bouncing off the rev limiter....i was told it might be a bad cdi so i went out and got a new one, installed today and the same thing happened.....the carb has been checked and cleaned 3 times.....ive found nothing.... my dad mentioned today that it doesnt appear the gas cap is vented so that could be an issue but im out of ideas and im just frustrated.......what do you guys think......i need some help......

the gas tank is vented there is a tube under the plastics that could be kinked and causing a backfire or it could be the jets you have in the carb check the spark plugs and see what color they are

I agree that it sounds like possibly the vent lines that run under the tank could be pinched off.I had the same symptoms and finally i pulled the tank and saw that one of the lines was almost totally closed off and when i freed it up i had no more problems.

I've had the vent cap issue. Loosen the cap and it should go away. If it doesn't. . . this may not be your issue.

. . . . who told you to go buy a CDI without checking this first??? Sounds like someone is in for a flogging.

Just a couple of things I do that might save you some time next time. Keep your extra CDI to try if anything like that comes up again. Also if you think it might be a vent line just take the cap off next time. Sounds like you got it licked now. Good luck
