to be honest, If I do all the work building the frame I might as well go ahead and finish the whole bike. the frame mods and proper engine mounting are of course the hardest part.

supersonic help me understand. a busa 1300cc makes about 130 hp off the show room floor this is just estimates im not questioning your knowledge im just trying to expand mine. and i think you said with 20 or 30 lbs of boost it will jump up to 600 hp im really amazed. first off i know what a turbo is but what is boost and how do you change boost? for those who know me you know where im getting at. i have 2 honda aqua trax qthat have turbos. it has a 1235 cc motor with a turbo and i have 165 hp it will do 71 miles an hour on the water which some people say 71mph on water is faster than 71 on land, i thought 71 was 71. how can i take this honda 1235cc turbo charged motor and get it up to say 300 hp. how do i increase boost, seriously

2big2bfast , first of all a busa motor actually makes 180hp at the crank stock (185hp advertised) and about 155 at the rear wheel. you wont get 600hp out of a "stock" motor without blowing it up .at the 600hp level a lot of parts are changed out to beef the ingine up , pistons, rods, valve springs , tranny and clutch work. anyway, to be honest, your aqua trax probably makes about 5 pounds of boost at best and is extremely detuned so that it can be marketed to the public and still be safe and reliable. just about all turbo's are equiped with a waste gate which is basically a pressure reliefe valve. if it didnt have one you would have boost that was only regulated by rpm or maybe 5psi at 5000 rpm at 50! psi at 10,000rpm which would obviously grenade your motor. once turbo boost reaches a certain pressure this waste gate valve is pushed open just a tiny bit to bleed off excess pressure . think of it kind of like the pressure regulator on an air compressor . even though the pressure in the tank might be 120psi there is only 100psi coming out of the hose. as you know more air and more fuel in the cylinder mean more HP. thats why we port heads and run bigger cams and longer strokes, its all in an attempt to bring more air and fuel into the cylinder. a turbo motor actually crams in air . way more air than the engine could process naturally. but with all this air now in the cylinder you also need extra fuel. the problem with upping the power on your aqua trax wouldnt be getting more air into the cylinder. that could be achieved eaisily by modifying the waste gate or perhaps just adjusting it to where the internal spring which holds the waste gate valve shut is stronger so that it retains more boost . the problem would be adding more fuel. your Honda must be fuel injected and probably has a closed loop, non adjustable injection system which is programed to run only at the boost level honda set the system to run at. if you now add more air you cant add more fuel so you lean the system out and burn up the top end. with an aftermarket system like mine if I want more HP you simply tighten up the waste gate with one bolt and adjust the fuel pressure regulator up about 8lbs and hp skyrockets. I also have a boost sensing fuel pressure regulator which self adjusts fuel pressure up the instant boost is made. but again I am limited to 15psi by my valve springs. above 15psi I run the risk of the intake air pressure (boost)pushing the intake valves open and they will then contact the pistons. if I changed the valve springs for heavier ones I could then go up to 20psi before again being limited by the stock pistons. but I assure you 15psi is plenty its almost unusable power . 71 mph on the water is dam fast. if you go down at that speed its like hitting concrete. as your machine sits its fast and reliable. I personally would be happy with it like it is. hope this helps you , Gregg
