Ds 650 valve problem

Default Ds 650 valve problem

what would make the valve lash get so tight that you cant even get a .002 measurement between the lobe and shim

its the intake valve the exhaust valves are good

I was told just wear.Mine was that tight also.It made me worried so i asked here.
Lots of experiance and knowledge on here

That is exactly why you are doing a valve job... the valves get tight over time and the tighter they are the faster they will wear. Since it sounds like this is the first valve job doen on the bike it is probably long over due, and as a result the valves have worn so the valves are super tight. From most accounts here the intake valves are usually tighter than the exhaust. I couldn't tell you why but thats just how it is.

Alright, why would they get tighter over time? Would they not wear down and get losser???

The way I understand it is the valves and seats wear... the springs can then pull the valve stem closer to the shim bucket... causing a tighter valve lash.
