just a suggestion. every year we go to either dumont or glamis for the week between xmas and new years day and the weather that time of the year is AWSOME. its generally sunny and high 70's low 80's there while its raining and cold at my house. we leave either xmas day in the eavening after we are done with the family thing or the day after xmas and drive home new years day. glamis is of course a zoo and just about out of control but dumont is actually quite nice with just enough crowd to make it fun at the race hill and not enough crowd to get in your way out in the dunes. there is LOTS of good dune riding , a great race hill , a huge camping area probably 50 times as big as utahs camping area and generally you wont have anyone camped within several hundred yards of you. you can make as big of a circle as you want and I have never seen the rangers hassle anyone at the hill for any reason. alot of people have this time off or can get it off and kids are also out of school I believe. . the drive wouldnt be as bad for the utah guys as it would be to "****"mo and maybe 200 less for me than utah was. thats where we will be that week either way but know everyone would enjoy it completely. there could still be a ds days on labor day somewhere else and how about a another ds days on that useless week between xmas and new years? I bet its raining in oregon that whole month and snowing in utah. we could call it SO Cal ds days

I choose Sand Mtn NV over Pismo, didnt have the best time when we went to Pismo, got stuck, no spots up front, we had a 2WD Semi with 37ft trailer, this setup works every where except Pismo lol.

no matter where we go, plan on the majority having big rigs. Pismo does have a good hill, it's what we raced on for FSW. Nice hill and great shoots.

I really like the idea of Dumont, but I'm only one guy. We also have a lot of locals that could help with the support. We can even get some local shops to sponsor the event. I know that the dealer that I work with will and I'm sure I can get a few of the retail dealers in on it. For SURE!

I really like the AFTER HALLOWEEN and BEFORE TURKEY DAY range. Kind of like the second week in November. Dumont is awsome that time of year. Being between Two BIG weekends also means that we'll have little problem with crowds. The Price is $20 for the weekend and there are vault toilets just about everywhere. Because it's so close, I can even arrange to have a water tank in a truck for the weekend. That way, no one will ever run dry. Fires are ALWAYS allowed and the Sherrifs are real cool about organizing events. As long as they have an idea of what's going on and it doesn't conflict with a big weekend. Really is one of the best stops in the US, and has a lot to offer. Baker with all the ammenities is just a short 35 minutes away. If people need to crash on the way out, they can set up their toy hauler at my pad for the night an then follow me out. There are little dunes, big dunes, and HUGE dunes. You name it, we have it. If we put on a race for everyone, there will be lights.... If we put on a race for just 4strokes there will be some very specific classes. If we put on a race for just big bores, there will be a lot of classes and lots of trophies. It's what I do for a living, so this kind of planning is very simple.

My 2 cents.

I'll throw down my vote on the pole.

I think we should stick to the tradition ..Sand Mt. it is a lot easier on the utah guys and I don't think it would be DS days without them. I go to Pismo at least once a month i really like that place but it sucks in the summer Labor Day weekend is a big weekend there are way to many people to deal with. You would never find your way to the dunes through the caution tape maze. We are already their for 4stroke wars in June....SAND MT.

If you want my 2 cents...Pismo isn't a dune I'd want to go to on Labor Day weekend. It's the smallest set of dunes in the west, but yet most visited state park in CA. It would be way too crowded to have any kind of fun. The risk factor for injury would be through the roof. Not to mention the biggest hill is a joke compared to what you've been racing up the last 5 yrs.

Getting stuck is almost a 100% chance of happening. Not saying that there are people who pull big rigs up into the dunes, but there is no way I can.

While I'm here...I wanted to say I had a great time meeting you guys...even you ace
Had fun riding with the group and enjoyed the fire side chats.

I voted for Oregon. I say winchester bay, since it had the biggest dunes, and is in the middle.

I really would not make the trip to pismo. It was fun for fsw, but I would get bored after one day. But thats me, and this is a poll baby! Let freedom ring!!!
