If Oregon ends up being the place chosen for DS days then i would like to see it held Labor Day weekend so that time off would not be a concern for everyone.I have talked about the possibilty of organizing this with the wife and she is willing to help me out and i would recruit anyone else that would be able to help that is local .I just got in from a day trip to Florence Oregon and the weather was 65 degrees and totally sunny with a slight breeze off the ocean!!!!With all the good things Oregon has to offer for a DS days event there will always be the sound issue to deal with but...i was just running up the hill today against some extremely loud four strokes and they are always there and they just take their chances.Just so everyone knows it is entirely possible that you could be sound checked and possibly be handed a ticket if you are over the limit i just want that to be clear.

I have sent your request to all of the potential organizers. Two have acknowleged reciept of my request. If you dont hear directly from them, Im sure they will post the dates they are thinking about.

Well, just to clear a couple things up. First, everyone had left SM Nevada on sunday during the past Ds days.
Everyone left on Monday this year, thats the last day of the event. Ace stayed until tuesday, thats after the event. When I left at Noon on monday, there was still over 50 trailers at the mountain! So saying a holiday weekend is not no concern is invalid.
Second, I was worried this would happen if we voted this way. Last year the only people to vote were people that attended Ds days, and were at the fire saturday night. If this gets to be a pissing match, we should just revert to that, and the only people that get to vote, are those that attended. Why in the world are we trying to work around folks that have NEVER attended?????
This is hard! To try and make us all happy is almost impossible. I think eveyone has been upfront about dates. The only one not on Labor day is Dumont. So if you vote for dumont, know its not going to be on Labor day. Mike needs to set the date, so we all know if that place is decided on, thats when it will be. If some cant attend, myself included, it wont be the end of the world, and many other folks will still have a good time. Although I dont know how with out me!lol j/k

this is again rediculous, how many times have you been to sand mountain NV viper? 2 times? I have been there 4 or 5 times a year since around 1988? and love the place. yes its smaller than utah but there is still plenty of fun to be had there. there is only 18 acres at pismo and no real big hills but you guys are willing to go there. if that is the way you feel about the place Jed Im afraid that others may share your feelings as you seem to have some sort of following on this forum and I dont want to be the one everyone gets mad at if for some reason a good time isnt had by all at sand mountain. I honestly didn't want to be an "organizer " for this or any other event and my initial feelings about the idea of being in charge have been reafirmed. I can see no good coming from being in charge and I am tired of it being made into such a big deal and it being blown so out of proportion. the first poll wasnt an official poll using "queensbury rules"or something so the original poll starter got snapped at and every post he entered was erased. whats up with that? I saw several people who shall remain nameless come back from from utah and complain many times about not having a good time because of the lack of organization at the race hill, the strict regulations ruining the fun at the hill and the lack of organized group dune rides back at camp. I honestly dont need any of that dirrected at me and think its all to serious around here lately. this is one post I kind of wish I had just read and closed. I will most likely just go to sand mountain NV on labor day regardless as thats where I will have the most fun and have to deal with the least crapola. I hope you all have fun where ever you end up but I aint stressin over it any more. count me out as organizer there please ODP and remove me from the list. if any should happen by sand mountain on labor day, look me up . I will be the happy as hell guy in the big red white and blue 40ft bus and I will leave the porch light on for ya!

Second and probably more importantly.... What is this honor, integrity etc. etc. crap all about. We're talking about getting together to dune, hang out, tell lies and meet new people. Integrity of the Poll???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I evaluate integrity by the type of man you are. By the way you treat others around you. I evaluate honor by the actions of a man not what he chooses to think or propose. I give credit where credit is due to people that earn it. SuperSonic and Jed have their right to disagree... Choose has the right to stir the pot - that's what choose does. I have the right to look at possible locations and give some suggestions. Don't want the suggestions - cool. This is all getting a little to intense, and no offense Mark, you seem to be steering it there. I could give one RAT's **** about where it is and what's going to happen. If I can get there, great. If I'm hosting it, great. Quite frankly guys and girls, this entire package can be put together in a matter of weeks. Nothing more than that.
Sand Mtn NV, Coral, Dumont, Oregon, Little Sahara, Pismo...... people's votes, this place has that, doesn't have this...... it's just to much. Good GRIEF!!!!! Quite frankly, if the vote were to happen in January, would we be any worse off? Are the 10 - 12 rigs that showed this year REALLY planning 360days out? It's RECREATTION!!!! NO BODY IS GETTING PAID TO DO THIS!!!!! EVERYBODY just RELAX!!!!!!
Listen, all I'm saying is that Dumont is TO HOT on Labor Day. Bad choice for a get together. What the weather sites don't tell you is that the temps are taken at near-by Baker, CA. If you are in the DUNES.... go about 5 - 7 hotter. Get in front of the drag hills.... try another 7 - 10.
I'll do what ever. You want me to organize something between Halloween and Thanksgiving at Dumont - consider it done and professional. You want me to organize something for Labor Day at Coral - consider it done and professional.
This is my last post on this thread. Not mad, not upset, don't have my feelings hurt. Just not putting anymore time into this thread when the planning of the event takes even less time. Maybe Cynic should be running this thread, she's the only level head in this place. This place is getting hard to watch and post at. Just seems like the attitudes are getting a little thick over the last 3 months or so.
