Default HELP..I CAN'T DECIDE..CAT 650TRV or CANAM MAX?

Like I said, A/C probably makes a fine machine but as of now they barely register on the market share radar, Can-Am/Bombardier suffers from the same image, or lack of for that matter. Once you mention Sea Doo people are like "yeah, I've heard of them" A/C doesn't ring much of a bell outside the snow belt, BRP is recognized worldwide under a number of different banners/products.

Heck, I didn't even realize A/C was still in production till a few years ago when I started riding ATV's. When I moved from MN they had just gone into bankruptcy protection, never kept up with what happened with them, looks like they rebounded. For a period of time it was their clothing/merchandise line that kept the company afloat, similar to Harley Davidson during the early 80's. From what I remember they built a hell of a sled, traditionally they had the fastest production sleds I think?? They also had the coolest looking logo's, like I said, their branded merchandise kept them goinig.

It's my understanding the midwest isn't getting as much snow in some parts anymore, killing snowmobile sales and almost creating an alternative ATV market. My friends from back there tell me they don't get nearly as much snow, I remember getting literally snowed in at least once a year!

AC has had record ATV sales, that keep breaking the prior year record sales, for 6 yrs in a row now, so they are doing well. It also says they are doing well by building a large AC plant in St Cloud to build more ATVs. I actually didnt know BRP/Can-AM/Ski Doo made atvs until 10 months ago!! I only knew of sleds/water sports. Hopefully they both do well. (ac and can-am) But i dont for a second think one is better than the other, or "has better technology"

Actually two seperate companies now. Bombardier sold off the recreation division to a group of investors including the Bombardier family however they were limited on how long they could continue to use the name Bombardier, this is what brought on the Can-Am name. The company is called BRP Inc LLC I do believe.

The Bombardier company is involved in mass transportations, they built the Las Vegas monorail, Lear Jets, light rail cars etc......

BMW uses the same 650 Rotax in one of their motorcycles as the DS 650 uses.

The Sea Doo personal watercraft are the #1 personal watercraft in the world, as others have mentioned there is Evinrude and Johnson boat motors, some of the best in the business.

where did you hear that?? that is news to me. Do you have a source? I would like to read more on that. To my knowledge BRP (Bomardier Recreational PRoducts) is still under the main bombardier umbrella. The reason for the CAN-AM switch is French names do not sell well in the united states, and Bombardier had spent 5 years and millions of dollars in case studites to choose a new name for the ATV line. Also the Atv line was the only of Bombardiers line to carry the bombardier name. all other lines carried their own name. Marine engines are Evenrude, and johnson, othrt engines (land and air) are Rotax, aircraft are DeHavilland, snowmobiles are Ski-doo, and jet skis are Sea-Doo. They wanted a brand name for ATV line seporate from the company umbrella, and since they owned and discontinued the highly successfull motocross CAN-AM line in the 70s'- 80's the re-branding of the ATV line to Can-AM made sense.

This is the understanding I got from my dealer. If you know otherwise of a sale to an american company in "Las Vegas?" please provide your source. As far as I am aware Bombardier International, and BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) is still a Canadian ased Company. If memory serves correct they are out of Vallencourt Quebec. With Rotax plant in Europe (all designs for rotax are European) and Assembly plants for ATV in Mexico (all designs out of Valencourt Quebec Canada)
