Hauling @ss Raptor 700 to replace DS...?
Tony,
I heard that rumor to but I checked my phone records and can't find any evidence to support the rumor. I have two Raptor 700's that are completely stock and that is the way they stay........as dune bikes I want reliable and quiet.
I am selling off my chassis parts on my DS because I don't want an OEM chassis DS anymore. It is way cheaper to start from scratch with a chassis to get a DS to 300 lbs than it is to take an OEM frame and get it to 300 lbs.........especially if you want one that is safe. The downside is that it excludes me from KOTH. Who cares! Bomber has that class covered
I have (2) 800 motors, (1) 730 and (2) stockbores. I predict the DS will be down at minimum all winter. Lets see what spring unveils
Of course, new acquisitions are always on the table if the right thing comes along

I won't reveal my sources as then I won't get anymore info...
BUT, BRP is expirementing....From what I've been told, IF they decide to make any changes to the DS, it probably won't be for several years, the 2008 or 2009 model....but market factors have a tendency to make plans change....like the new Raptor....Hopefully BRP will make the changes quicker...I think they are waiting for the new manufacturing plant in Mexico....It is being designed so model changes can be done more easily and cost effective...
Only time will tell....At least BRP is looking at changes...

Bomb does need to thro out some serious choices as far as the sport class goes. I do know that if I had any honda, yamaha, suzuki, etc at the track the other week when my oil drain plug stripped its way out the motor woula blown for sure! I ran that thing at high rpm's all the way around the track, with the engine already HOT and then with no oil in 'er, im surprised it didnt blow, or at least burn up something! But i got the drain plug fixed, threw some oil in 'er, FIRED RIGHT UP! when they say bulletproof, they mean it, only in a DS baby!
