my grandfathers outie 650 max did the same thing he took it to the dealer and they replaced the belt. said it had something to do with the apache tracks and it not being in low gear.

New Outlander 650

My 650 outty did the same thing. It turned out to be the break bushing in the clutch. Can Am won't cover belts on these machines, however I had documentation of the problem from the day I brought it home. So after the deductable they replaced the belt and cleaned the clutch. It was a big hassel to get it repaired under warantee, but my dealer did it. Good luck with yours.
