Peak power with stock cams and carb is about 6300 rpm. Until you upgrade your cams, I can't see any benefit to revving past 7000 rpm. .............especially with the torque and low rpm hp the endcap makes.
Your carb should hold your torque curve out a little longer which will give you more reason to rev.........I just don't know how much.

Thanks for the replies, dont think I have had it that close yet, still getting use to the tourqe. I've been riding a 400 sport polaris and they are worlds apart. Any aftermarket places to get a tach for it. I think the wiring is already there for it. Thanks again for replies .

I talked to RWR before gettin my CDI and they told me the Rotax redline was 8500 rpms, but the stock cut out was at lke 7400/7500 until 2002 when they upped it for the Baja to 7900rpms, im not sure if they changed it since then, the Baja tach's read up to 10,000rpms, they r expensive, im glad the Baja model came with the tachs! comes in handy for some drag racin

dirt wheels did a test on the bomb ds650 and there is some guy, i cant place his name that specializes on bombardier (factory mechanic) i think, and he makes his own rev boxes for those things that has no cut off point on them at all so they must be able to hold some serious rpm's.
