Leaking shock on ds650 Help
#1
When I was down at the sand dunes last week I landed hard on my front tires after a big jump. Now my left front shock is leaking grease out of the top of it. How can I fix this? Is it a big deal it still feels good?

I have recently replaced my front shocks with a set of elka's because I landed a jump and put a 90 degree bend in one of the shock shafts. If you have a ds that is not an X package the shocks are not rebuildable. You can keep driving on a leaking shock, but if one locked up the way mine did, you can get frame damage as I did.

Sorry, but I personally dont believe that "good shocks" and "budget" belong in the same same sentence together to a point. If you put your ds into the air at a level your factory shocks dont hold up, you need aftermarket suspension, and that isn't something your going to find cheap. I know where your coming from, but I spent the money on aftermarket suspension and have been very happy with the results.

A good option would be to get some baja x shocks off ebay or something...they are better than the normal ds shocks and you can prob get them for cheap.
