Would a DS650 carb fit in a ds250, if so, i want to know how much a DS650 carb would cost in Canadian dollars, brand new from a dealer as a replacement part.

Thinking that's way too much carb for the motor. Wouldn't mind peppin the wifes up a bit. Trying to find a slip on for the exhaust.

Where'd you get the nerfs for yours at?

its the nerfs that can am makes for them, your dealer will have a accesories booklet, if not, just go to the bomb website and you should be able to order online. they arent very nice nerfs,

-square tubing and the mesh goes around the entire tubing, it doesnt hook up to the tubing, you should be able to see it on can am website.

do you really think thats a big carb for a ds250? its 42mm right? the ds250 carb is 23mm and some people say that taking off the aribox lid wont give more power with the stock carb.

what would happen if you put such a big carb on a 250, would it wreck the engine or let it rev until it blows?, i do think it would have huge power gains, hopefully running 20hp along with a pipe.

, i think a 35mm carb should be fine tho, the z250 uses a 29mm carb,

however, i might be able to take the carb out of my dads eiger, its a KEIHIN CVK32, im pretty sure thats a 32mm carb, would that be too much for a 250

and BTW, K&N should be coming out with a filter for the ds250, i made a suggestion that they do it, and i got an email back saying they were developing it and should come out in a few months, that was 6 weeks ago

if you find a pipe for the ds250, make a topic right away in the canam forum, I will notice, also you can email me: ripple_carrot@hotmail.com

Saw the nerfs the dealer had, just reminded me of old lawn chairs. I know that nerfs from a suzuki 250 don't work, next try is a honda. I know I'll have a little fab work, but just didn't like the square ones.

I would think the jetting would be so far off, you'd never get it right. Seems like it'd pour too much fuel in. Could be wrong on that, wouldn't be a first. But, also the carb boots matching up to the engine would be a problem. Thinking you'd have to port the intake.

I'd also check ebay for the carb. I got lucky and found a new one for my Polaris for 25 bucks.

The Honda 250ex uses a 22mm carb and the DS250 uses a 23mm.
To gain throttle response look at my Stock Carb Mods Summary.
Bigger carbs will kill throttle reponse on these little motors.
Measure the vacuum port size and go up 1/64in and tests. Do not cut spring.
Find a aftermarket exhaust and with alittle carb work, they come alive.
Leave airbox alone till you do one step at a time.

have you tried jetting up and tuning on the stock carb? they are cut WAY back from the factory.

i have a cutaway/disassembled view of my carburetor in my shop manual

i think it shows the main jet on the front of the carb closest to the engine.(its a needle right?) do i adjust that needle, by raising or lowering it, or turning/screwing that thing in. or do i adjust the pilot screw
