it may not be shift forks at all. you may have bent the "shift shaft" i had almost the same problem. would shift fine but ocasionaly would get stuck in 2nd gear. then one day it all went bad & got stuck in 5th. thought it was forks ended up beeing the shaft. you still have to split the cases but the part was $68.00 instead of $200.00+ . if you do the work yourself , bikebandit.com has all to OEM parts and are cheaper than the dealer. theyalso have great exploded views on their site. hope this may help, just my 2 cents.
