Thanks guys for your input. I already ordered a 2000 model part, but again if they break I will order the updated version of them. I will report when I have them, running or not.

Just pulled both partsd out of my buddies bike, we are waiting on the long shaft. when we put the inner shaft togather it felt a little loose is that normal. By loose I mean there is play from side to side.

I suggest he replaces both parts. I think when one goes the other needs to be replaced. I did everything by the book and with care and I'm getting the same results.

Default Clutch Shaft on Clutch Cover... keep breaking them

Okay being sick all weekend didn't help but I pulled the clutch cover off again and found a possible suspect, the bearing where the accentuator goes thru was popped off. I didn't know how I didn' notice it before. The bearing looks fine. No scoring on the race area. The manual states to freeze the bearing and heat the pressure plate so I am doing that now. I wonder what caused it to push out. I also wonder if it will happen again. I got my parts in. Let's see if I can get it to work.

Anyone ever had this bearing pop off on them?

Bike seems to be up and running. With a 9 disc set up and stronger springs it hooks up big time (neutral seems harder to find). I don't think I will have any slipping clutch issues at all. It's been a while since I rode the DS so it feels new to me all over again. Thanks for the input guys looks like she will hold together (Riding it hard this Sunday).
