Renegade 800 or Outlaw 525
Hey guys!
I am looking to add another to the stable and wanted some opinions on which quad would be best for the riding I do. Keep in mind I am keeping the DS. I ride mostly in the desert, mining roads, rocky trails, washes and canyons. I also like to dune at Sand Mt. and Oregon Dunes and forest ride up in the Sierras. I would like to get a machine that is fast, handles well at high speed and has better clearance that the DS. I have had a couple of near flips from hitting rocks on the skid plate at high speed. What are your thoughts???

Bring your tape and measure it at the dealers. They like to lift the sag out of it, then measure it. Sit on it and have your buddy measure it. These dealers don't like that.
I would buy another outy in a heartbeat, but you can use the clearance (lack of?) as a bargaining tool. I don't know what the Renegade clearance is supposed to be, 12"?, or what it actually is, but their false advertising on the Outys is my only real complaint about CanAm.

These 2 are the 2 I'm considering for next season. Both will do you fine, but if 4x4 isn't important, then I think the 525 would do you fine. Put the $2000 you save for some nice extras. Power will be close between the 2, but the 200lbs lighter, the Outlaw should be quicker unless it's a short race. But if 4x4 is needed, then the Renegade should be great. The Renegade will be a sweet set-up. The only thing I didn't like to hear is, the 3 year warranty isn't going with it. I don't know if that will change, but there putting it in the same sport catorgory as the DS, thus 6 months.

The $2000 grand savings is tempting as well as the Fox shocks and Maxxis tires stock really are swaying me that way. I have had good luck with both my Polaris and my Can-Am so to me build quality is close enough not to stress about it. What is pulling me towards the Renegade is the 800 motor is awesome as I have ridden the Outy and Wow it is fast! I am wondering though if the Renegade will handle like a sport quad. I know it is lighter and will have slightly different tire/suspension set up but it is still a big machine. HMMM
