its funny to me how I get calls from all over the country and even from Canada from people wanting info or help building a "Bombusa" . LOL I made that word up I think while sitting on the john or something and havent used it in a while and now I'm hearing it from all over the country. under 9k wont be a problem if you buy the right parts the first time. take some welding classes and buy a wire feeder to play with. once you build one conversion bike it gets in your blood and every one after that gets easier and nicer. good luck Turbo bansheekid . as for the rest of ya? how have you been? hope you all have a good Xmas. anyone going to Glamis soon? thats were I will be in a week from the 26th to the first. my new raptor with a couple bolt ons is making 50hp and weighs 370lbs. runs pretty hard for what it is. Will sell it in a couple months when I'm done building my ultra light 1500cc turbo nitrous busa DS. LOL. I mean you have to make every bike you build go faster than the last , Right??LOL

Check out the Millermatic 135 I love mine.... one of the best quality welders you can get. Great for a starter setup and it can weld up to 1/4 inch stock. Do yourself a favor and get an auto darkening mask... it makes everything way easier. If you don't want to pony up the cash for the Miller there are tons of cheap Chinese models available... they won't last long but you will get through your project. Check out Harbor Freight Tools for a cheapo.

On a side note, if you've never used one before it might be a good idea to buy a bunch scrap steel to practice with. Mig welding is not hard but it does take some practice to get it right. Welding on a frame will require some strong welds to be safe... make sure know what your doing. Poor quality welds will be brittle and weak... you deffinetly don't want anything like that on a steet bike conversion bike. Good luck

GREATadvice Fat holly. Listen to EVERYTHING said here!! If you do a conversion?!? Build it and run it for a season!! Be sure your design/ welds are sound!! Don't want to have to re-powdercoat /paint!!
