Default DS650 Motorcycle Engine Conversion

a tubing bender and band saw would be nice. I also have a miller DVI and a comparable miller tig but you could get away with a much cheaper lincoln weldpack 100 which you can pick up at home depot for around $300. its a wire feeder but uses flux core wire so no gas is required. you will have to go back and clean up your welds though if you want them to look factory.

Yes thats a really nice machine, but keep in mind you won't be welding anything that thick to require 220v, like supersonic said a flux core is really easy but will require lots of cleanup... I liked the Millermatic because it comes with a gas regualtor and then you just need a bottle. Anyway, whatever you decide to get you should also have a grinder, with grinding wheels, cutting wheels, some wire brushes. A welding mask (autodarkening... trust me its worth the extra scratch), gloves, a tubing bender like supersonic said, a bandsaw would be really nice, and last and the most important, (and I don't want to sound like the high school shop teacher here) make sure you wear safety glasses or goggles when you are cutting anything... trust me on that one, I've ended up in the emergency room twice with flakes of steel in my eye... the first time I waited a week to go in hoping it would work its way out, it ended up rusting onto my eyeball, and they took a dremel like tool to drill it out... PAIN!!!!!!!

Good luck!
