Default Cleaning a Big Gun Pipe

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions how to get off the dirt that is burnt into the pipe. It almost looks like rust in some places. I am thinking of an Aluminum cleaner for the can part but what about the ceramic pipe. I tried a green scratch pad only to have it polish the dirt and make it shiny.

I ended up taking it off after blowing the rear axle 2 weekends ago. I went over a tree and it popped the retaining clip that holds the axel nut on. It backed out and 20 miles later everything was toast. $665 later for a new axel, chain adjuster and all new bearings! I am bumming because if there was any snow around it would have never happened! But like my buddies say..
?Just shut up and pay like the rest of do?

Thanks,

- Moose

I had the same thing happen to my Big Gun pipe. Tried to clean and polish it a few times myself. Never looked good enough for me.

Took it to a guy who does metal polishing. He polished to to mirror finish for $75 bucks. Looks great now and I hit it every now and then with a little polish to clean it up myself.

See my pics page !!!

Thanks,

If you are pulling big RPM's - 9,000 + the tube will cave in from the suction. The tie wraps hold the tube in shape !!!
